IT'S A CURSED GIFT THEN
 
this part explains the gifts that is special ability in this game whether it is earthers ,el hazardian, etc
of course this will be longer than others i think.it will be splitted into two parts ,ordinary ,elements ,and extraordinary.
ordinary is for human and shadow tribe while element is for the priestess

each gifts(the good point) is sometimes tied with curse(the bad point)
earthers ,shadow tribe ,the priestess and probably the bugrom can choose only from their section of gifts
the player choose their gift based on ratings whether they are earthers, shadow tribe etc and of course based on the rulings.

this part explains how many gift points a character could received
earthers=1 gift
normal el hazardian=none at all
priestess=1 gift
royalty=none
shadow tribe= none ,they alraedy have the illusion gifts (they have to choose either illuson 1 or illusion 2 . they also considered automatically possessed the vision gift

special rules for earthers and maybe shadow tribe
one of the great aspect of el hazard is that none of the earthers characters know what their powers are . all of them knows by accident so i came up with this simple rules . it could be fun though

humans :
first asked the player to choose five of the powers he or she want the most fo her his character the game master then secretly assign numbers to those five chooise ( assign it as either 1-2 ,3-4 ,5-6 ,7-8 , 9-0 ) then either the game master or the player roll the dice . the result of this is kept secret and the player have to experiment if they want to know what kind of powers they got (the gamemeaster makes the roll and describe the effect of it wether it is player`s gift or not however when the character discovered his or her gift considered it as average success even thought the relosution task is fail althought if higher than average succes treat it as that ) the player however must first make a declare that he is trying to make sure he has that certain gift

examples :
after seing fujisawa sensei kicking the bugrom around wth his superstrength gift ,makoto declares that he wants to try and punch a bugrom and see if he has the power ,since makoto don`t have the superstrength gift the game master roll his 10d dicw based on the makoto physique attribute , later when confronting ifurita makoto declare that he wants to try if he has the synch gift he touchs ifurita staff and the gm makes a roll (the roll is actually a failure but it is considered as average success since makoto try it for the first time , and thus makoto is able to enter ifurita`s mind

ORIDNARY GIFTS
gifts which earthers, and shadow tribe can choose

SUPERSTRENGTH
gift : you have the strength no normal human could hope to achieved in a short time
ruling : your physique rating is automatically 6, and your toughness rating is automatically 5
both your physique and toughness rating must be 3 and above if player character wants to choose these
tied curse: diet ; u can^t drink nor eat food or drink which bad for health (alcohol ,drugs or if you want fattening foods) or this power will lose for a period of time . minor stuff like ciggaretes etc will only decrease the physique rate to 5 and toughness to 4
ruling : diet must be choose with the backgorund: addiction .whether or not the effect of the food had wore off is up to the judge and if he did lose his power ,his score turns back to his orginal score .another way to handle this curse is that the player roll his dice based on his toughness score and beat the dificulty level(for more information ,check the hangover part in the non combar resolution part).

VISION
gift:you see them as who they are and no illusion works on you (you see them as they really are) , wether it is a gift or made by machine
ruling : all illusion gift has no effect on you when make a perception roll seeing through illusion is an atoumatic success (considered it as average success)
tied curse: none that i can think of

SENSE
gift: all your senses are up to its maximum potentiol
ruling : consider the perception attribute as six
tied curse: concentration :you must make a reason roll to use this gift . the diificulty is up to the gm

OVATION
gift:you could communicate to creatures which others(i mean human) can`t ,even in your own mother tongue the creature still understands you(bugrom, el hazardian cats, birds etc)
ruling : that`s basically it you could speak to creature that it`s language no human could possibly learn and speak
must choose a specific race(bugrom, el hazardian cats like ura or the servant thing fujisawa `fights` with to save miz) this skill is also considered as an automatic success
tied curse: none

FLYING
gift:you are able to defy gravity and soar throught sky
ruling : the range and manuevarability of your flight is the same as walking on the ground (based on reflex attribute except +2 to the dice roll) able to carry twice the weight of the flyer itself, however manuevarability is -4 )
tied curse: concentration : the same as sense althought for a wind priestess she can still do other gifts while flying

SYNCH
gift : albe to activate , connect and communicate with sentience and non sentience ancient`s device
ruling : this gift will only works when contact is made(meaning by touch) and the abiltiy to control ancient device does not mean you know everything about that device and when the device is sentience it is character reason vs the device reason and with non sentience device it is character reason versus dn(the easiest would be 4) depends on the device complexity
tied curse: none

MINOR ILLUSSION
gift : you could alter perception of two of the five sense sense of others
ruling : choose two of the five sense (touch ,smell , vision etc ) . usually used to change one appearance , the success is based on your magic knowledge .it affect a certain range of area

MAJOR ILLUSSION
gift : you could alter perception of all five senses of others . it affect a certain range of area
ruling : you could created a beleivable illusion whether it is a bright light or a tidal waves of water ). this is mental resolution (if you started to make illusion of rain of stones i would believe it,do you ?) ,if lose the character is affected as it was real until knockout (for example an illusion of fire,if the character lose ,he started to lose life point based on the damage cost of fire until knockout not dead) .however the player must state that what she feels is illusion first to ignore the damage(in one word ,make a mental resolution or cause damage as stated above.

THICK SKIN
gift point : 1
gift:you have a very thick skin (hey what else can i say)
ruling : act the same as a shield would accept it is your own skin (role dice based on your essence attribute at it all up and that is your thick skin shield score ) and it could only be repaired b normal healing process ( see healing)
tied curse: none that i can think of

TOUGH BODY
gift point : 1
gift:you could ignore pain as if nothing hurts you at all
ruling : the penalty of wound does not apply to this guy
tied curse: none that i can think of

DURABLE
gift point : 1
gift: heat , cold , etc doesn`t affect . must be enviromental source
ruling : the usual penalty for being in such a place does not affect you
tied curse: none that i can think

ORACLE
gift point : 1
gift: you see the future although you have no control over it . and could not predict anyones death and the vision is usually in symbols (example : a woman with a fire like aura may mean a fire priestess or a woman on fire ,or a place where people talk strangely or slurly maybe an asylum or gasp...a bar this is up to the gm )
ruling : roll d10 dice base on your essence score the highest dice roll is the amount of how many times the you could ask a clue from a gm , the gm can only give clues . no exact information ((example: "the scroll is under a sky made of wood " not "it is under the table or something" )

ENERGY SHIELD
gift point : 1
gift:you could create shield or shields made of energy (thinks of tenchi`s light hawk wings)
ruling : based on your energy attribute you could make one energy shield with one enrgy attribute (its shape is either oval , round or whatever) it width and height is 1/2 of the character `s own width or height (which one is bigger score), its move around the characters body based on the character`s reflex score .the width and height itself could be increased based on energy attribute (for example if the energy attribute is 3 then the width and the height itself is increased to 2 times its normal size )

ELEMENT GIFT
this are gifts espeacially for the priestess of el hazard . the priestess has learned to make their own combat or non combat rules based on their power ( for example miz`s water spear and afura`s badger slash ) the element does not moves throught the command of the priestess instead it`s moves become the priestess put some of their ownself in that element which the priestess is aligned to (in this case it is the essence attribute)

FIRE
gift point : 1
basic gift:
shape : you could shape the form of fire and fire like energy to suit your needs (shayla shayla energy bombs when figthing ifurita for the second rounds
make : you could produce fire /fire like energy from your body
resistance:your body is immune to fire (your equipment are not affected as long as your essence is more than 3 .if lower it is affected from fire not originated from the character itself )
agile:your are agile and fast and able to leap high and far and hover for a while when your activate your powers
ruling : how powerful your fire gift is based on your energy attribute (example :if your essence attribute is 2 roll two dice )
tied curse: none that i can think of

WIND
gift point : 1
basic gift:
shape : you could shape the form winds to suits your need (this were afura`s badger slash came from )
make : you could produce wind at location of your bidding
flight:as the flight gift except maneuvaribility is +4 instead of +2 and able to carry three times the weight of the flyer itself ; -8 when carrying 4 times its weight)
increased : you could increase or decrease the velocity of the wind
ruling : how powerful is your shape ability is based on your energy attribute (example :if your energy attribute is 2 roll two dice)
tied curse: none that i can think of

WATER
gift point : 1
basic gift:
shape : you could shape the form of water to suits your need (this were miz`s water spear came from and the giant form in both the second ova and the alternative world series)
summon : water comes to you at your command and flow through your body (this doesn`t necesarily mean that the can`t drown )
moves : you could created a force shield like bubble (under water or surface) and used it like a transport its manouvrebility is based on characters energy attribute and it is strongh enough to carry five times the makers weight
sense water: you could sense water( the range the abundacy etc is based on your success
ruling : how powerful is your shape ability is based on your energy attribute (example :if your energy attribute is 2 roll two dice )
