Profile: In the early 90s, Walker had already come a long way in the world, and he'd met a lady named Shai. Through their relationship together, Walker brought those he knew from his previous misadventures with Son Goku, among others (such as Rahan, Lance, Tux) and Shai brought those she knew (such as Piccollo, Mike, Reba) from her long and checkered career, all together to meet one another, and this resulted in a group of family-like friends dedicated to each other. They made their own home in islands apart from AG, and Rahan himself deemed them the Usual Gang of Idiots, a name brought to them because of their wild martial arts comedy personalities.
Romantically, Shai was originally with Mike Giovanni, but their relationship soon saw an end around the time Walker made his presence known. Their love was a slow one to take off, due mostly to this and the young Akero's general shy attitude, but they both agreed thoroughly that their romantic interests were strong since day one. In 1998, Walker lost his Demon through selfless acts, but too soon to seek the Demon's redemption. Feeling he needed to earn his forgiveness from the powers that be, in addition to feeling he'd need the power to keep Shai safe, he went to the only person he felt he could, the one going by Piccolo or Ma Jr. Through interactions with him, he learned not only was Piccolo Daimao the reigning Demon King once again, but that he'd been the creator of the Grendel Demon that Walker lost.
They teamed up for their first real time, going to Hell with Shai's assitance to reclaim the Grendel, and even witnessing the fusion of Piccolo Jr. and Piccolo Daimao into one person, thereby making him far more powerful. Since then, Shai remained a constant presence in the lives of the UGoI, acting often as the guild's back bone in any event where she was needed. Unfortunately for Walker and Shai, their presence with one another was often put in jeapordy. When Walker was called upon to finish his past with his Admiral-turned-rouge and the corrupt Jasson, Shai's attention turned towards an old fling even previous to Mike, by the name of Sam, whom has (until now) been a friend and sparring partner of Walkerm, who convinced her that even if Walker did come back alive, he wouldn't always be there for her, and was a poor choice.
When Walker came back, Shai broke up with him. This rended at Walker, turning him into a man of spite until a mutual friend in the group saw Walker's bitter insults at Amy were his way of coping with his love for her. Through help of others, namely Sam's own flummery, Walker was able to convince her--with Lisa's help--that this was a bad decision, and once more won Shai back to him. Walker was then called upon to assist Lance with Rahan and Piccollo when Lance discovered the rising of a corrupt guild presence. This guild believed to be the Orochi. The four of them fought against the most unbeatable odds, and through it earned the attention of the head of ESF, Later down, an ex-member of the ESF known only as Trunks began a guild to fight UGoI and ESF, called the DSW. War broke out on multiple fronts.
In 1999, Walker and Shai broke up once more, and the result on Walker was devastating. Feeling that the UGoI had lost it's original purpose to NOT be a guild, much less enter into senseless wars, Shai felt the UGoI should be terminated, and called a large meeting to see what others felt. UGoI crumbled under half the members leaving following her decision to disband, and Vent also got a break up with Jenn, and was therefore leaving allowing ESF to crumble as well. Walker was about through with his existence, as neither the love of his life nor the passion of fellowship remained... Or so he thought. From the rubble came the rising phoenix in Bean Kenzaki, and the UGoI and the ESF were reborn, this time as a single entity merging their losses together.
Shai was not interested in the new UGoI-ESF, as it seemed to embrace what broke them apart even more seriously; rather than not being a guild, it was whole-heartedly a guild and a forum on top of, thanks to Mike Giovanni. Rather than not participating in any wars, it participated in the wars it had been in, and intended to start whatever else were neccessary to further the cause of fighting the good fight. While she and Walker eventually managed to scavange some sort of friendly relationship later down the road (circa 2000), Shai mostly faded into the background, before retiring completely. This was mostly because originally dealing with her occult interest, and then an ironic twist where Vent and Shai--who both lost Jenn and Walker respectively--found a Christian solace in one another. She was last seen having words with Renki' Sar Kane.
Though that's the last heard from her officially, it is known that Vent and Shai had eventually gone their seperate ways, and Shai's friendships--while under turbulance through her Christian views--were nutured back to health with Piccollo, Reh-Bah, and Jenn. It is an ironic end to Vent and Shai, but it is also unfortunate, as the one man that truly wants her is Walker, and the one man she truly wants is Vent. She no longer carries her same hair, often changing it (and often short), and seems to have set her magic aside to fade into obscurity. It is largely unknown where she lives or what Shai now does with her life, but it is surmised that it is considerably more mundane than her time with the UGoI. One thing is for sure though, even without being in the scene now, Shai set the tone for a lot of what UGoI is today:
Without Shai, there would be no UGoI. Walker would not know love--and indeed, that is the love that is most defining, if not most unending, of all of Walker's affairs. Without Shai, UGoI would have never broken apart to merge with the ESF and turning it's fullest attentions to be a guild fighting for righteous causes. And lastly, without Shai, Walker would have never come to Rhy'Din, and through this action met Renki' Sar Kane, which in turn set Walker down the road of atonement, Akero Investigations, Sheffield Arms Inn, and a whole slew of new characters and adventures never possible without the decisions she made. If not the ironic way of Vent and Shai seperating similar to Shai and Walker, then all these others, are often proof enough for Walker to point out that there really is a greater pupose of destiny.
Personality: Sweet, sweet, sweet. Shai makes Jenn look like a nagging harridan. Shai seems to be a very sweet girl. She is of course, very determined, and was trying to get Walker as a husband. Patient and kind, she loved Walker despite knowing about his curse, and was very understanding of Walker's stumbling in the ways of the heart. Friendly, loyal, a bit emotional. And, of course, she absolutely adores cats. One of the more stable characters from UGoI, although that's not too hard to accomplish. Shai may be prone to trying to change her personality to suit her partner, but she's so sweet she doesn't need to change. ^_^ The earlier Shai has a little more spunk than the later Shai, and has even been known to get a bit tempery, especially with people who try to take liberties with her person. Despite first impressions, she does have a strong will of her own; but she hides the steel under velvet.
