These are ideas which have plagued me for some time. I am either writing them now, but not in a suitble format, or they're just ideas. If it has a title, it is subject to change.
I've noticed that many of the ideas I come up with are written by others, with unique twists, before I can get to mine. I will note that in the descriptions.
You don't have to believe me, but I know it's happened to you.
Regardless, enjoy.
Ranma was kidnapped by Genma at 18 months. Nodoka won a divorce and planned to marry Chiba Akito, Mamoru's widower father. Near the wedding date, Nodoka and Akito are taken to the hospital, to be reunited with a battered and cursed Ranma.
A few weeks, later, Ranma and Mamoru are orphaned. Eventually, they are placed in the care of Kino Mokoto's parents, before their untimely death.
How will this all affect Ranma as s/he grows up with the Jusenkyo curse and his/her foster sister is Sailor Jupiter and his step-brother is Tuxedo Mask? Did I mention that Ranma knows all of the Senshi, before they know each other and gain their powers?
Kasumi and Ranma dated for two years before his second trip to Jusenkyo. This was at the time of Ryoga's first challenge. Until the night before the dual was supposed to occur, Kasumi assumed Ranma was male. Then she learned of the horrible secret of Jusenkyo.
Three years later, Soun announces the engagement to his daughters. Of course, Kasumi knows about the curse when Ranma and Genma arrive. To her, her girlfriend returned.
Based on Past and Special Delivery
While visiting Ranma's grave, Kasumi is granted a wish. Due to circumstances leading up to Ranma's death, Kasumi referred to Ranma as a girl in the wish, thus getting a chance to save her beloved Ranma-chan from the Wrecking Crew.
Ranma is a pariah in Nerima. He has been barred from school, businesses, his mother's home, and recently, the Tendou Dojo, all because he is the target for the Wrecking Crew. Only Kasumi is his lifeline, as she is the only one who is able to keep the insanity at bay.
One day, during the start of a "Blizzard of the Mellenia," Ranma is ejected from the dojo, where he is saved by Natsumi and Miyuki. They, along with Kasumi, return to the YUA couple's apartment, to wait for the weather and the tempers to subside. There, the barriers come down, and relations are revealed.
When Ranma let's it slip that Akane has a crush on Dr. Tofu, Akane throws Ranma-Chan to the boys as they announce the end of their pursuit to her. Horrified at the behaviour of her sister, and the resulting attack on Ranma, Nabiki seeks to save Ranma, and the girls at school, from the mindless mob. She instigates a plan to segregate the school into three classes. One hold Ranma and the girls, another for just Akane, and the final one to the boys.
Ranma and Tenchi are kidnaped by Genma when they are young. Ranma is in Noboyuki's and Katsuhito's care after the Neko-ken training. The chace ends at Jusenkyo, where Genma has dunked Ranma and Tenchi, twice. The two are now permanently girls.
Now, Tenchi loves her body and chases the boys she's always liked (based on the running joke in my anime club.) Ranma, who hates her new body, does the chores around the house and shrine. Katsuhito has the normal curse. Ranma now knows her adopted family's heritage, while Tenchi is kept in the dark by Katsuhito. And when Ranma and Tenchi go to Jurai, their lives change forever, as seeds of jealousy threaten to tear them, the Empire, and the Earth apart.
Before Happosai ever shows up in the series, Ranma walks out of the dojo when the fiancees start fighting each other. When no one notices, he gets depressed and continues on. He later runs into a youma, and the Sailor Senshi, at a park in Juuban.
There, he starts to learn what having friends is all about, especially when they don't pressure him about his curse, even when they learn of it, and only Hino Rei has seen it in action. The Senshi have taken a personal interest in Ranma's well-being. Ranma also learns he has a cousin, Hino Rei, and that Akane's cousins, Tenou Haruka and Mizuno Ami, are among his new friends.
How will Ranma react as his old life intrudes on his new, peaceful life?
Ayeka is travelling through the streets of Nerima, trying to prove to Ryoko that she can handle herself. She encounters a fight between Ranma, Ryoga, Kunou, and Mousse. She's injured by Mousse. Later, she visits the Tendou Dojo with Kiyone to get more information on Mousse and the others from Ranma, only to be attacked by Akane. This has a potential Ranma/Ayeka matching. Inspired by the Ranma/Ryoko fics out there.
Ranma meets the Tendou's on the first day. Nabiki makes a much better impression on him than in the original. That starts an unusual friendship that has the Ice Queen being a warm, security blanket to our favorite martial artist.
"Kunou-baby, I couldn't possibly sell any photo's of your 'pig-tailed' goddess for less than Y10,000 each."
"Y10,000? That is an outrage!"
"That's why I can't do it. I do have a set of ten photo's of Akane AND your 'pig-tailed' goddess for Y5000."
"SOLD!"
Ranma comes into the possession of a magic item that transforms his female half into the Shadow Lady, Thief Extraordinnaire!
Possibility 1 --
Nabiki walks in on Ranma-chan during a transformation. As a result, she is totally devoted to the new girl in town.
Possibility 2 --
Akane walks in on Ranma-chan during a transformation. She is then totally devoted to the new girl.
In both stories, Ranma gets the courage to do something about her fiancees. She steals the most valuable items from them. She even is successful against Cologne, and ends up having the Amazon Laws (especially the sacred laws) published on the internet.
This idea was presented some time ago on the FFML. Ranma kills Kunou the first day at the pool. As a result, Ranma swears off fighting, believing he violated one of the principles Genma taught him: never fight a weaker opponent.
It then falls upon Akane and Nabiki to protect Ranma, who has become a very shy and withdrawn person. In fact, he becomes so withdrawn, Kasumi is downright aggressive by comparrison. And when Ranma remains a girl, due to the dragon hair and the initial fight against Ryoga, she become the perfect Japanese housewife-to-be.
Ranma fights, and wins, against Prince Herb of the Musk. Problem is, Ryoga exacts his revenge and relocks Ranma's and Herb's curses. Before he can be stopped, he destroys the key, killing Mint in the process.
When Ryoga returns, some time later, he claims Ranma chose to remain a woman. Genma and Soun are ready to believe it, but even Akane realizes there's something more to the story. Will Ryoga be able to keep his secret, and evade the blood hunt?
Approximately 5 yeas after the movie ends, Ashitaka has rebuilt Iron Town and is working with the Forrest Spirits and San on making it better. Lady Eboshi has passed away and Ashitaka must defend his home (Iron Town and the Forrest) from Lord Osanno.
To complicate matters, San is pregnant and Jigo returns for revenge.
During Ryoga's night time ambush, Ranma suffers a severe head injury. The combination of Genma's sign, Ryoga's fist, and the large rocks near the pond, Ranma receives a severe concussion and is deafened.
Tofu orders Ranma not to change back to male, otherwise the concussion will worsen. He also discovers, after days/weeks of treatment, that Ranma is totally deaf.
Akane thinks Ranma's faking it, and Ryoga encourages that line of thinking. Kasumi and Nabiki take it upon themselves to protect Ranma, eventually falling in love with Ranma, who is too withdrawn to care much about anything.
Just before Genma leaves with Ranma on the training trip, he kills Nodoka in a rage, in front of Ranma. Nodoka's spirit remains with Ranma, protecting him as much as she can from Genma's stupidity and barely controlled anger.
When Ranma becomes cursed, he takes on Nodoka's body. Due to Genma's training, Ranma and Nodoka are able to change places. Thus Nodoka is the one who greets Genma at the pool.
It turns out that Ranma isn't the only one with a spirit protector (in his case, anyone Genma killed in Ranma's presence becomes a protector.) The Tendou daughters are protected by their mother (I haven't decided if it is Kasumi or Nabiki that can see the spirit forms of Ranma (who appears to be about six years old and, at first glance, a girl) and Nodoka.)
This is the result of a discussion a group of my collaborators and I had during AnimeIowa 99.
The basic premise is that when the fiancees, other than Akane, destroy the Saotome home in order to get Ranma and the infamous pill box, Nodoka decides to end the madness. While she is recovering from a broken bone, caused by the collapsing ceiling, she visits each fiancee in turn. None like what they hear. Will Nodoka's plan work, or will she be healing from more than a broken leg?
Inspired by Neko Can't. This also has several possibilities.
Possibility 1 --
Ranma is rescued from the Nekoken training by Nodoka amd a family of weretigers. The weretigers are looking for their daughter. When they open the pit, Ranma is being protected by a tiger cub.
Possibility 2 --
See above, only it's the tigress searching for her daughter and helps Nodoka save Ranma. This also parallels the idea concerning Nodoka sharing her bed and heart with another woman.
Possibility 3 --
Nodoka isn't involved, but the weretigers are.
Possibility 4 --
Weretigers don't exist. Nodoka rescues Ranma and attempts to hide from Genma. Eventually, ending up in a certain valley in China. (This version is very similar to Mike Koos Ranma/SM fusion idea for Usagi.)
Inspired by a Bet story (don't remember which one, though.)
Genma stops by the Tendou Dojo before beginning his trip with Ranma. He finds Soun devastated by his wife's recent death. Deciding it's for the best, he takes the girls with him.
Eventually, they (including Ranma) break away from him, but not without being scarred in many ways. They end up hiding in a certain mountain range in China, avoiding both Genma and the Musk.
Another story inspired by a couple of Bets.
Possibility 1
After Nabiki makes the comment about many interesting combinations with Ranma, Akane tells her she can have him. After a series of incidents, starting with a startled kiss between Ranma and Nabiki, the engagement is turned over to Nabs.
Possibility 2
Kasumi is the one who takes over the engagement with Nabiki running interference to everyone else, especially Akane.
Instead of running from Ranma-kun in the beginning, Akane beats him severely. After the beating, Genma demonstrates the curse, further injuring Ranma's broken and cracked ribs.
Tofu orders Ranma not to change, which is fine with him (as long as he doesn't get beaten by the psycho chick he's engaged to.) Akane, thrilled that her female fiancee will be with her, begins to monopolize Ranma's attention. Initially receptive to the attention, it quickly becomes smothering.
Nabiki sees the problem early on. She hopes Akane will slow down, but Akane becomes even more possessive. Nabs decides it's time to rescue Ranma. She invites Ranma to join a very exclusive clique under the guise of tutoring.
Nabiki introduces Ranma-chan to her girlfriends. Thus, Ranma is surrounded by the most beautiful and brilliant girls in Furinkan. Needless to say, Akane doesn't take it well.
After a particularly bad day, Kasumi takes Ranma-chan to a very exclusive resort for the weekend. There, Ranma discovers a very big secret of Kasumi's. Ranma wonders what s/he's gotten into when mild mannered Kasumi becomes a very outspoken woman when at the resort.
Chris Jones granted me permission to continue his oneshot.
Each chapter will cover a major character, ending with the wedding and perhaps an epilogue.
During one of Akiko's rages, Ranma, Akane, Herb, Shampoo, and others are killed or injured from the resulting fight. Nuku-Nuku finds Ranma-chan and Akane embracing each other, badly burned and near death. She rushes off to have Papa-san save them.
Unfortunately for Ranma, his condition at death and Kyusake's "modifications" leave Ranma bitter and Akane disappointed.
What if the Saotome's and the Tendou's had always been neighbors, but only Nodoka and Kasumi realized it? With that in mind, what would Nodoka do if Ranma-chan arrived, face-first, in her back yard? Warning, this is not a comedy.
Another idea that came from this same plot after a bout of mild depression/frustration is: Akane's temper is such that she ignores all of the changes that Ranma has undergone, with Nodoka's and Kasumi's help, thus driving Ranma into Kasumi's waiting arms. This version will be, at best, a LIME. I do expect it to go further.
I am still undecided as whether or not to proceed with both versions. Let me know what you think.
Discontinued! Andrew Norris has returned this project to me, claiming he can't write dark stuff. As such, I will use his prologue to launch the rest of the story.
In this story, Genma is a really mean SOB and puts Ranma through extreme tortures. When Ranma arrives at the dojo, he's not quite with it. Akane wins the match, but soon learns a horrifying secret about her new friend/fiancee.
I have finally started this one. Don't expect it anytime soon, though.
SV2 no longer exists due to the unexpected return of the Gryphon. A number of Section 2 members are dead or grieviously injured. Noa and the survivors must put back together their lives.
Ranma is about 12 years old and is forced by Genma to fend for himself after failing miserably at Jusenkyo. As a result, Ranma-chan is placed into foster care as a young girl. Two of the officers responsible for getting him off the street, Miyuki and Natsumi, adopt the young girl they know as Ranma. From there, things get real interesting, especially when Ranma-chan goes up against a tough gang from her junior high school.
After having her home and her son's wedding destroyed by the various fiancees, Saotome Nodoka uses the Naban Mirror to warn herself about Ranma's fate and also try to prevent Ranma from becoming cursed. Unfortunately, she gets swept up into the events of her son's life, including sharing his curse and living the year before the wedding. She realizes, too late, that some things are best left alone.
Discontinued! A story inspired by SKJAM's Those Who Can't and job pressures.
Ranma and Akane are in college, married. Ranma needs an internship to graduate. Problem is, no one will hire him in his chosen field, physical education and health. When Akane applies for the same or similar jobs, she is hired almost immediately. Now, Akane has to deal with a severely depressed Ranma and their families as she begins to assume the duties as the dojo's newest instructor.
Nodoka has been separated from her husband for many long years. She is eventually reunited wiht him and his son. She is delighted that Ranma is also her daughter and is in love with, and loved by, Akane (though they don't always show it.) This Nodoka has a secret that may send Ranma way from her for good: she shares her bed and heart with another woman.
Nodoka is the heir to a family of thieves, just as Genma is. While Genma can be a sneak, Nodoka's skills are much better. She also has a mission in life: recover the family treasures, stolen by a once trusted friend.
The catch is, only the women in her family can inherit the legacy. Ranma is an only child.
Kasumi and Nabiki are also thieves. They figure it's time to bring Akane in on the family secret. What better way to exact revenge on the rivals than stealing their most prized possessions?
One night, the Tendous and the Saotomes are after the same treasure. Akane also recognizes Ranma's rather unique physique and clevage (thanks to a very revealing outfit Nodoka insists her "daughter" wears during a job.) As a result, the Tendou girls begin to fulfil two promises: only their daughters may learn the skills (just like Nodoka's family) and uniting the two martial arts schools.
Ranma was born a girl but raised a boy. She is plagued by strange dreams when she enters high school. She dreams she is the Ranma that we know. She is frightened because of what the dreams imply, as well as what her father would make of them.
Akane is a girl plagued with troubles of her own: her parents don't seem to notice her, but the boys do; her older sisters are too busy to help her get through her problems; and she is plagued by the same dreams Ranma has.
With apologies to the author of Just a Dream (excellent Urusei Yatsura story.)
Direct sequel to Dot Warner's Pain and Pleasure. This story focuses on Ranma's slow recovery from his ordeal. It also has some of the cast, who either didn't know or care, confronting Ranma and Akane about their new closeness.
Written with Dot's permission.
This idea was suggested on the FFML a while back.
Ranma loses his fight to Kumon Ryu in a big way. Not only is Ranma unable to make a decisive victory, Nodoka is convinced "Ranko" started the fight. Ryu jumps on that line of thought, bringing Genma out from hiding. Genma, the coward he is, acknowledges Ryu as his son, Ranma.
Akane, Nabiki, and Kasumi are apalled at how easily Genma turns on his son. Akane would also marry Ranma over Ryu any day. When he puts the moves on her, and makes Ranma's life Hell, she decides to take Ranma away from Nerima. Nabiki and Kasumi follow quickly. After all, neither one of them want to marry Ryu.
Yes, you read me correctly. Galaxy High. This story was suggest by Gerald E. Jordan. Ranma and crew are asked to join a galactic high school on the boarder of Juraian and Uruseian spce. Since Earth is a focal point of activity, selected students get chosen to attend.
This idea comes from a recent question about ideas done to death: Ranma has the chance to free himself from his curse. So do the others. What they don't realize is the danger involved in doing so. Is the gang strong enough to contain the evil they've let loose, the evil that is themselves?
This is another of Gerald's ideas. Ranma starts to develop psychic abilities, but only in his female form. Can he learn how to use them before his family and friends get hurt?
A possible sequel to Gary Kleppe's Lost. When Ranma and Akane return to Japan, everyone has to adjust to Ranma's condition. How will he react? How will they react?
A Nuku-Nuku/Ranma fusion/X-Over where the Nyannichuan was actually the pool where Nuku-Nuku crash-landed after saving Mama-san from the satellite. Maybe Ryoga fell into the pool of the drowned Eimi! The reverse could also happen, Nuku-Nuku gets her wish, becoming human. If you think either is worth writing, let me know.
This is going to be a new direction for me (actually several.) First, it will be my first attempt at prolonged comedy. Not every story will be funny, some will be downright depressing, but comedy will play a major roll. Next, it will be my first attempt in nearly eleven years at writing a script format. This will also be my first, major attempt at collaborating with others in eleven years.
The first story will be Mihoshi's first case.
Ranma and Akane discover that Genma has lied to the family about the promise made to Nodoka. She never made the promise. In fact, Genma kidnapped Ranma as a child and told him his mother was dead. Nodoka, being warned by Genma to stay away, shows up for a visit. During this visit, she lets it slip she knows about the curse (she's an avid sports fan and follows Furinkan High's events religiously.)
Ranma and Akane begin to unravel the lies and half truths Genma has preached for the last ten years. Both make decisions concerning their various relationships, especially towards Genma.
She's back. This time, Saki must use her skills to solve a series of crimes at a university. The problem is, she has a young daughter and husband to protect.
What if Genma took Ranma to Jusenkyo to learn balance when Ranma was 5 years old. Then, Genma took Ranma back to Japan to learn the Nekoken. When Ranma "failed" there, Genma abandoned his son at an orphanage.
This story takes the concept of Ranma and Akane meeting at an earlier age. Here, Ranma must come to terms with his condition while Akane gains a new friend. In this story, Hinako is Soun's wife and doesn't die.
MetroAnime wrote a series of what ifs called the bet. One was the Bitter Pill (I think that was the title.) Anyway, I had a similar idea to his, but he wrote his first, and better.
The premise behind this story is that Akane swallowed the Lifetime Love Pill instead of the Day Love Pill. My version has a different twist to it than Metro's. At any rate, I'll probably be working on this. I'll have to get his permission, since he published first, but it may be a fusion of our ideas.
The Warner studio tries to get rid of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot one more time. Through a series of mishaps, they meet Tenchi and the gang, who must try to return the Warners to their own universe.
Oh yeah, my friend and I were sober when we came up with this. The comment I threw out to her was "I hate you." Her response was "I know, but it's fun this way."
It's five years after Senkawa Tsutomu and Birdy have merged bodies. Now married to his high school sweetheart, Natusmi, Officer Senkawa sets out to make sure the streets of Tokyo are safe for his wife and the trio's infant daughter.
Of course, complications set in as alien criminals interfere with family time and the boss keeps thinking of ways to exploit your alien half.
