Halberds are pretty good weapons but better for their cool factor "look ma i got me a big pole with blades, nifty." Halberds are pretty good if used right, better for hunting naked animals than critters with armor or weapons(i can take a viper or croc down faster than a wood troll.) They attack from pole so you can retreat and attack, let it get to melee by the time your RT's over and then retreat and attack again. A good technique to stay nimbly balanced(i haven't learned incred yet) is just to jab then thrust, jab, thrust, etc... if you do fall off balance(early on learning the haberd you tend to) just parry then jab, thrust, jab, etc.. away and you should stay nimbly balanced.
another trick i recently was told is: jab/feint/att(or slice), this works just as well as jab/thrust, and used together i manage to get incred balance most of the time(but usually kill pretty fast)
Some Halberds I've found:
*Halberd(Mod/Mod/Fair, fairly/fairly- Crossing weapon shop) standard starter Halberd, is pretty good you'll probally need a weapon strap to carry it.
*The Ox-Tongue Spear(heavy/fair/low, fairly/fairly- Haven Weapon shop) a pretty good weapon since you do more stabbing than slicing so the heavy puncture helps.
*Short Hafted Halberd(Mod/Mod/Fair, fairly/fairly- Theren Keep) same RT as a broad sword, is a great weapon.
*Lochaber Axe(Poor/Great/Severe, poor/reason- Ratha Forge) great App but is heavy like a Claymore maybe more.
(list is continuing, it's hard to find people who know anything about them, am looking for Stone clan halb, and Guis from Ratha, and there's a faire one out there, and old Khuj, and any others)
