Sailor Moon

This is your basic surface scan of the series Sailor Moon.

Ah, Sailor Moon, Im sure we all know this childish, yet extremly addictive cartoon and comic. If not, I can tell you right now you are in the wrong place. As we all also know, but just to add a little background, In America Sailor Moon has 3 different series. There's the one where she destroys Queen Beryl and the Negaverse, the Doom Tree series and the one where she and Darien fall in love and start a family.

In Japan, where the comic originated from, there are many more series but these were complicated to put up in America because of the questionable issues. See, SM was targeted for girls 6-10, but in the Japanese series, there were four other scouts, Neptune, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto, and the Starlights.
Now all this was fine except Neptune and Uranus were lesbian lovers, so the producers decided to leave it out. Now you know, on with the rest.
OK, enter Sailor Moon- Thank you. Alright, your average, well maybe a bit under average girl. She goes to middle school, has a normal family, normal name (Serena), she's boy crazy, and man, what a klutz. School girl by day, a non-existant night life, well most of the time,
and Sailor Moon whenever the forces of evil or the negatrash start messing around with things that are important to a teenage girl, like beauty salons, arcades, and of course guys, mainly Darien, because, let's face it, the guy's a fox.

Now what sets Serena apart from other girls, besides the Sailor Moon thing, is that she has a talking cat, yes indeed a talking cat. And wait, it gets better, not only does Luna the cat talk to Serena, she can also produce small but helpful objects by doing backflips in the air. Luna is Serena's 'protecter' and watcher on Earth. Luna also helps Serena gather the other Sailor Scouts together.
The first SS they find is Sailor Mercury, or Ami.
She wears a blue sailor outfit and has water based attacks. Ami is the brainy one of the group, she uses her computer skills and the small computer Luna backflips for her to track down NegaTrash.

The second is Sailor Mars, or Rei.
Rei lives with her grandfather in a temple and goes to a different school. She wears a red sailor outfit and has fire based attacks. Rei also uses fire readings to help out the group.

The third they find is Sailor Jupiter, or Lita.
Lita likes to fight and is very boy crazy. She wears a green sailor outfit and her attacks are thunder based. She is very aggresive as well as powerful.

The fourth and final SS the girls find is Sailor Venus, or Mina.
Mina had been going around as Sailor V for a while but the girls just didn't realize that hey, hmm she could be a sailor scout! So she finally joins the group with her talking cat, yes, they seem to be abundant on this show, Artemis, and he and Luna get together and remember old times.

Now another thing is that the girls, and apparently everyone else in the show, fail to realize that they look exactly the same in real life as they do as Sailor Scouts. I mean, in conversation here (Ami)-Oh hello Mina, I hardly recognized you, I've only seen you as a scout! Mina----> <---- Sailor Venus, hmmm now I couldn't figure that out.
Halfway through the first series the girls start getting helped by the mysterious Tuxedo Mask, who looks just like Darien, hmmm. But still, they don't figure it out, and neither does he! So SM falls for Tuxdedo Mask, who gives her the cold shoulder because he is in love with the Moon Princess , who is really Serena and looks exactly like her. Except Serena doesn't remember. They're all a bunch of smart ones. It turns out that they were all once part of the great and wondeful Moon Kingdom, and there was princess Serena and Prince Darien. They were in love, but he went to fight the Negaverse, who was trying to take over the moon, and was hurt, so Serena's mother erased thier memories and sent them to Earth along with the other sailor scouts.

On their last night, Darien gave Serena a locket which she used later to restore his memory after he'd been brainwashed by Beryl.
