Ryoga Hibiki first makes his introduction during the 7th episode of the Ranma 1/2 TV series. An old rival of Ranma's since Junior High, he is constantly fighting Ranma for both revenge and later for Akane. Having a curse of his own, he blames Ranma for knocking him into the springs and having him change into a pig.
Ryoga Hibiki is introduced as the "eternally lost boy" and can never seem to find his way. If he wants to get somewhere he has to leave many days in advance to hopefully stumble across it. His poor sense of direction is seen at it's fullest when he goes to meet Ranma in the back lot of his house but gets lost running there and arrives 3 days later.
Being the same age as Ranma, they both attended the same middle school. Every day he would lose to Ranma the "last bread of the day" during lunch. His anger gradually grew and he followed Ranma to China after missing the duel. There he stumbled upon the springs of Jusenkyo and was knocked into the spring of drowned pig by a young girl chasing a panda. Although not knowing that the young girl was Ranma at the time, he still blamed him for it. Later after finding out that the young girl was indeed Ranma, he continued to seek his revenge by trying to defeat Ranma.
Whenever Ryoga gets splashed by cold water, he changes into a small black piglet. Akane came across Ryoga in his pig form (not knowing it was he) and took him as a pet; naming him p-chan. Seeing how she cared for him in his pig form, Ryoga fell in love with Akane but could never gather the courage to tell her that he loved her. Whenever he tries, he either breaks down or is interrupted by Ranma. Even so, he'll often times attack Ranma for treating Akane poorly and will deliver gifts to her from time to time. Akane never finds out that Ryoga is actually her pet p-chan or that Ryoga has very strong feelings for her.
Jusenkyo Curse:
Whenever he gets splashed with cold water he turns into a small black piglet. Although he loses all his clothes he does retain a bandanna around his neck.
Family:
None that I know of or seen, they're probably out lost somewhere.
Weapons/Skills:
Ryoga's main weapon is his umbrella which is probably made out of metal since it is extremely heavy. He does however carry it one handed. He also has an endless supply of bandannas which he can throw as shurikens and can even use his sash as a cutting type weapon. Besides probably being the strongest character, he uses martial arts and can perform a few special techniques.
