Article on the live action movie!
I just received a copy of the article concerning the possible production of the live action Sailor Moon movie, that was printed in the Hollywood Reporter(a daily trade paper for the entertainment industry). It is the original article upon which the article at the Mr. Showbiz web site(see below) was based upon.

The article appeared in the September 30th, 1997 edition of the Hollywood Reporter and it's interesting to note that it was on the FRONT PAGE!

Live action movie not dead!
Nothing has been heard for quite some time about the possible production of a live action movie based on Sailor Moon. Consequently, many believe it to be a dead project. However, on September 30th 1997 a new article appeared on the Mr. Showbiz web site(a joint ABC News / Starwave venture), entitled Geena Davis To Play Evil Queen?. It is a short article stating that the Hollywood Reporter(a daily trade paper for the entertainment industry) is reporting that Geena Davis and Renny Harlin are developing a movie adaptation of Sailor Moon, in which Geena Davis will play Queen Beryl. The movie will be a co-production by Forge Productions(owned by Renny Harlin and Geena Davis) and DiC Entertainment, for Disney Pictures.

This article doesn't contain any new information, nor does it confirm that the movie will actually be made, but it would certainly seem to indicate it is still a very real possibility!

New soundtrack is almost here!
The new Sailor Moon soundtrack CD is scheduled to be released on October 14th. It is being handled by EMI Music Canada, and for now atleast, it is only being released in Canada.
 
 
 
New episodes begin showing this Saturday!
The first of the new English Sailor Moon episodes(episode #66) will be shown on YTV(a Canadian cable network) this Saturday, September 20th at 12:30pm!!!
 
 
 
Production nearly done!
Production of the 17 new English Sailor Moon episodes is nearing an end. In fact, YTV(a Canadian cable network) is already in possession of some of the completed episodes. The new episodes should debut in Canada sometime soon, but there's no word on when they might be aired in the U.S.
 
 
 
Production begins!
Production has finally begun on the 17 new English Sailor Moon episodes. It looks like most of the original cast is returning, except for Toby Proctor(Tuxedo Mask) and Katie Griffin(Sailor Mars).
 
 
 
Sailor Moon has returned to the U.S. airwaves!
Sailor Moon has already started airing in some parts of the U.S. and will show up in many more areas over the next couple of weeks. Start checking your local listings regularly, to see if and when Sailor Moon may show up on a local station in your area. And dont forget that the USA cable network will begin showing Sailor Moon on June 9th, 8:30am Eastern & Pacific, 7:30am Central, and 6:30am Mountain, Monday thru Thursday.
 
 
 
A U.S. cable network picks up Sailor Moon!
USA Network will begin showing Sailor Moon on Monday, June 9 at 8:30am (7:30am Central). This will be in addition to it airing on various local TV stations at various times, throughout the country, also beginning in June.
 
A Sailor Moon live-action Movie!
It was recently reported in the "Daily Variety", that 'Disney' is negotiating to acquire the rights to make a live-action movie based on Sailor Moon. It is also interesting to note that 'Forge Productions', owned by Renny Harlin and Geena Davis, may be producing the project. Take note: Nothing is finalized yet. This may or may not come to fruition. But, it is finally out of the rumor stage.
 
New Sailor Moon episodes!
Well, It's finally official. There will be 17 new English Sailor Moon episodes produced! This is due largely in part to the overwhelming popularity of Sailor Moon in Canada. So if you know any Canadians, Thank them for having such good taste! :) There's no word on when the new episodes will air, probably early this Fall in Canada, and hopefully sometime thereafter in the U.S.
 
Sailor Moon is returning to U.S. television!
