A grounder boy from the planet Martin. When he is 10 years old, the Abh invade his world and his father, the prime minister of the planet, becomes the first "Lord" of the planet. So without even fully understanding the situation, the boy becomes a member of the Abh nobility. Soon after this, he is sent to the planet Derctuh to learn the Abh language. At the age of 17, he leaves Derctuh for the Imperial Capital to enter a school of the Space Navy. This journey changes his already eventful life dramatically.
Judging from various descriptions given in the novel, it seems to me that he (and the people of the planet Martin) are British descendants. The only solid evidence is, however, that the language of Martin is closer to "ancient English."
At the end of the "Monshou" series, he succeeds the earldom upon his father's death. After three years in the Space Navy school, he joins Lamhirh's Basrogrh as the Chief Administrator.

A young Abh girl with jet-black eyes and dark blue hair. She is a granddaughter of the current Empress and a princess of the Empire.
When she first meets Ghintec, she is sixteen and a Flyer Trainee for the Gauthlos. His ignorance about the Abh aristocracy and their later adventure in Sfagunaumh bring them very close. Their dramatic encounter, however, isn't coincidental; it is carefully plotted by her father (at least to some extent).
Typical to her clan, she has a fiery nature and high pride. This makes her a good target for teasing and her usual reply in such moments is "Don't be silly (baka, onyu)."

He is Ghintec's father and the prime minister of Martin when the planet is invaded by the Abh. Faced with the huge fleet of Laburec he chooses to avoid war and instead strikes a deal. He manages to make them accept a man selected from Martin as its new lord in exchange for disabling Martin's anti-space weapon. It is an extremely good deal, given the difference of their military power but the people of Martin, who don't understand the shear power of the Empire, regard him as a traitor. To make their impression even worse, he becomes the lord himself. It is unclear whether or not he wanted to assume the position.
Being a public figure, he seems to have spent little time with his son and Ghintec feels closer to Till and Lina, who have been looking after him.

She is the captain of the Gauthloth and a very able hecto-commander of the Space Navy. This lady with eyes of "melted gold" is the gene donor of Lamhirh. She is killed in action when a fleet of the Four Nation Union makes a surprise attack on her ship. The attack is the beginning of the galaxy-wide war between the Empire and the Union.
Because she dies very early in the story, very little is known about her. But a side story, "Birth", tells you about her relationship with Dubeusec (Lamhirh's father) and gives us a little insight on her personality.
She is the most charming lady of the series, IMHO ^_^

The baron of a tiny system in a remote area of the Empire. He has a strong inferiority complex over the short history of his family as an Abh peer, which has made him very eccentric, even in Abh standards.
He seems to avoid other Abh as much as possible; he shuts himself up in his barony and has only grounder servants (rich Abh do hire other Abh as servants). The confinement of his father is just another example of how insecure he is. However, he makes a big mistake when Lamhirh and Ghintec come to his barony by trying to keep the princess of the Empire.

The former baron of Feubdash and the father of the current baron. His mother was an ordinary national but later promoted to a baron. Thus he is not an Abh genetically, like Ghintec. He is confined by his own son, who regards him (or his grounder appearance) as a blot of the family.
Perhaps because of the long confinement he is very talkative, which annoys Ghintec occasionally. Yet he is caring and bright and eventually becomes a good friend of Ghintec.

The Crown Prince of the Empire and the supreme commander of the Space Navy. He commanded the fleet that conquered the planet Martin and made Ghintec's father an earl, probably out of a pure whim.
Untypical to the Ablïarsec clan, yet typical to the Barch family, he is very laid back and fond of teasing people. This nature of his is probably behind the unusual decision to accept a new lord from the people they have conquered because the anti-space weapon of Martin was no threat at all.

A Wing Flyer. She is the Gunner and Communicator of the Basrogrh. This young girl with sky-blue eyes talks little and rarely shows her emotions. She seems to be very interested in Ghintec but not as a man. Her family have never been successful traders and have never been rich enough to hire a grounder servant, so her interest in Ghintec is most likely purely because he is her first grounder acquaintance.
Although we don't see her at the helm in the anime, she is a really fast (and dangerous?) ships pilot... Dangerous enough to silence Sobach completely ^_^;; Also she is in charge of fan-serivce in the anime. ^_-

A Front Flyer and the Head Assitant of Basrogrh.
He looks young due to the nature of Abh people but actually he is in his 50's. His relatively low rank in the Space Navy is because he spent a long time in the trading journeys when he was young. Apparently one of these journeys was so successful it is regarded as one of the most profitable in Abh's history. Thus he is very rich even by Abh standards.

The Chief Engineer of the Basrogrh. As an Engineering Wing Flyer, he is legally an Abh but, like Ghintec, is biologically a grounder. In his late 30's, he is a nice "big brother" to Ghintec. It seems that China or Korea is the model for his culture. He is very particular about food and is a good cook himself.

She is a Space Navy Admiral and Chief of Staff for the Imperial Fleets led by the Crown Prince, Dusanh. She is a very serious and rather tense person. Dusanh often has fun by teasing her, especially after he finds out she has had an affair with one of the Bibauth brothers.

An Admiral. His clan, Bibauth, is known for their scientific/technical genius and extreme eccentricity.
During the Operation "Illusion", he is assigned command of the fleet to guard the planet Apticec (or its gate). Lamhirh and Ghintec are under his command but he is unaware of the fact until the battle is over.

A Kilo-Commander. His rank is lower than his twin bother because, he claims, he spent far more time on love-affairs than his brother did. He is more reasonable (or less eccentric) than his twin brother.

She is the sister of Lymh Feubdash Clüarh. Like her brother, she hated their small barony in a remote area of the Empire and stayed in the capital to enjoy a sophisticated life.
Upon her brother's death, she becomes heir to the barony. She joins the Space Navy and goes on to become the head of the battalion to which Lamhirh's Basrogrh is assigned.
Not only witty and fun-loving, she is an able battlefield commander and is later promoted to a very important job. I think she is one the most reasonable individuals amongst the very unique Abh people.

He must be the most unfortunate character of the show ^_^;; He seems to have had a pretty good career in the Space Navy up until his assignment as the chief assistant of Painaich. He has to take care of his extremely noble, talented and incredibly whimsical master. We only see him bewildered or cursing his fate but the fact Painaich keeps him by her means he is not only a good target for her teasing but a pretty able advisor to her.
