MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH

At the beginning, Magic Knight Rayearth was only manga, but it's success causes the anime TV series production.

The manga has 6 volumes, 3 for the first season, and other 3 for the second season.

The Anime has 2 season too. The first season has 20 chapters and the second season has 29. A total of 49 chapters.

And recently, the 3 OAVs (Original Animation Videos) have been released, and follow an alternative story totally different and without relation of anime's story.

I WARNING YOU that the follow resume can reveal some topics of Rayearth anime story. So if you haven't saw all the anime and you want to find out all by your self I advice you don't read this. If you don't mind to be spoiled, you can go on.

FIRST SEASON

The story begins when 3 young girls (Umi, Hikaru and Fuu) are suddenly transported from the Tokyo Tower to Cefiro by Princess Emerauld. She requests the 3 girls save Cefiro, her world, of it's imminent destruction. When the 3 girls arrive to this strange world, they are received by Clef, a powerful wizard who gives them magic and armours, he also tell the girls that if they don't save Cefiro they can't never return to their world. Nevertheless he is transformed in stone by his pupil, Zagato, who kidnaped Princess Emerauld. The girls arrive to Presea by using a magic creature given by Clef. Presea told them that they must find a mineral named Eskudo, with this mineral Presea will be able to form the swords of the girls. She also told them that if they want to become Magic Knights they have to find the Mashins, cause they are the only way that the girls can fight against Zagato. The 3 girls get the Eskudo and bring it to Presea, she can form the swords of the girls, but she dies.

The 3 girls, guided by Mokona (a seijyuu) and adviced by Clef through telepathy, find and awake the 3 Mashins: Ceres, Windom and Rayearth who join to the girls, that now become in Magic Knights. Then they fight against Zagato and defeat him.

The 3 Magic Knights find Emerauld, that's when she tells the true of their mission. Emerauld summoned them to destroy her cause she sinned when she falled in love of Zagato, her guardian, while she was Cefiro's Pillar (The Pillar has all the power in Cefiro, nevertheless, the Pillar doesn't have to love anything or anyone, only has to love the planet)and for that, the planet is destroying now and the only way to save her world is dying, only then, a new Pillar will born and will stop the destruction.

For the Magic Knights is too difficult do what Emerauld ask for, but at the end they destroy Emerauld and she thanks the girls, cause now she can stay with Zagato.

SECOND SEASON

When the 3 girls return to Tokyo, they are very depressed due Emerauld's destinity. Then return to the Tokyo Tower and they are transported to Cefiro again, but when they arrive, find this magic world has changed, Cefiro now is devastated. The 3 girls arrive then to the Castle of Cefiro and they are received by Mokona and Clef, he explains to the Magic Knights that Cefiro is destroying cause Emerauld, The Pillar, died. Also 3 nations (Autozam, Cizeta and Fharen) have planned the invasion of the planet. The 3 Magic Knights decide to help Clef defending Cefiro. Clef gives them magic and autentic Magic Knights armours, that change acourding the owner needs. Presea (well, her twin sister) gives their swords too and the 3 Mashins appear again to help the Knights to protect Cefiro.

Besides 3 enemy nations, exists another enemy that will appear soon, Hikaru is able to see it in her dreams, called Devoner.

Clef explains to the Knights the way Pillar Sistem works. The Pillar's Symbol, the crown, chooses the new Pillar. The candidat to become Pillar must have a great will and strength in heart. The crown is located in a room in the higest part of Cefiro's Castle, to arrive there, the person must have great magic powers; for more protection, the crown is surrounded by a magical barrier and there are only 3 keys to open the room where it is located: Celf's magic ring, Zagato's magic plate and Lantiz sword, who returned recently to Cefiro from Autozam.
