Interests: He likes to play and copuse beautiful
music with his flute. He wants ther to be peace and to
protect his younger brother Suboshi.
He was ordered by Nakago to pose as the Suzaku seishi
Chiriko. We first see him in episode 17 when he saved
Miaka from being attacked by bats. He uses his chi through
his flute and also kills the man who was sent from Kutou to
accompany him. When Miaka sees the red tattoo on his arm
she asks him who he is. She says that he is Chiriko. Miaka
is overjoyed that she has gathered all of the seishi and
now she can see Tamahome again.
So Koutoku-chan goes back to the palace with the rest of
the gathered seishi. He plays his flute to comfort
everyone during the crisis concerning Tamahome. (His music
is so beautiful. Though Nuriko would rather be the one
comforting Hotohori in his own little way ^_^*) But then
that thing passes and its time to summon Suzaku. When
Suzaku doesn't show up at the ceremony everyone wonders
what's wrong. Then they hear Koutoku-chan's flute playing.
The music is hurting their brains Koutoku-chan tells them
that he is not really Chiriko. He is Amiboshi, a seiryuu
seishi. He keeps on playing his flute but then the real
Chiriko's music breaks the spell. Amiboshi then runs away
with Tamahome and Tasuki in pursuit. He ends up ate the
river and asks the boatman for a boat. The man says he
can't because with the recent rain the river is dangerous
and some people have already drowned. Tasuki and Tamahome
catch up him, but then Miaka and Chichiri fall on top of
the two. Miaka stops Tasuki and Tamahome and tells Amiboshi
that she knows that he is a kind person. But then Amiboshi
loses his footing and plunges toward the river. Luckily
Miaka runs forward and grabs a hold of the flute that he is
holding, stopping his fall. (Yeah Miaka-chan!!!!!) Dangling
there Amiboshi realizes his mistake and realizes that he
doesn't want to fight against the Suzaku seishi which have
become his friends. So he lets go of his flute and plummets
to his death. (NOOOO!!!!! -_-.... sniff sniff.)
After Miaka, falls into a ravine she is faced w/ Suboshi. He tells her to sit still and he kills a rabid animal behind her. She faints. When she wakes up again she finds herself on a bed and there is Suboshi. He turns out to be Kaika. When he holds up his flute to play a tune Miaka realizes it's Amiboshi. ::I jump up and down since he isn't dead anymore. YEAH!!!:: At the table they're all really surprised at Miaka-chan's appetite. Kaika and Kaika go outside to talk. She talks about how she has lost everyone she loves. Kaika's mom overhears and gives Miaka a potion, thinking it will erase her sad memories. Unfortunately, she gave her an overdose that causes Miaka to get a fever. Kaika decides to channel some of his ki to Miaka. ( Woohoo!!! I love this scene. He takes off his shirt!) It almost looks like he's kissing her. Miaka then gets better. He asks her to stay with him.
Kaika's parents explain how they had found him by the river, half drowned. Kaika knows he is Amiboshi. He tells Miaka that he became a seishi to revive Kutou but he didn't want to fight. Without him they shouldn't be able to revive Seiryuu. Miaka tells him there is another way. Kaika's village is attacked. One of his parents get injured. He kills some of the soldiers with his flute. He sences other seishi nearby. He tells Miaka to stay put while he goes and gets Tamahome.
Amiboshi saves Tamahome. While Tama and Miaka are reuniting though Tomo attacks Tamahome. Miaka falls under Tomo's spell inside a shell. Meanwhile Amiboshi is held by Tomo's vines. He keeps on yelling for Miaka to wake up that it is only an illusion.
Finally Miaka is released from the illusion. Amiboshi jumps in front of her to protect her. Tomo almost kills him when Suboshi comes along and defeats Tomo. Amiboshi and Suboshi are reunited. Amiboshi tries to give Suboshi the potion to make him forget everything. Suboshi doesn't want to forget though 'cause he loves Yui so he kisses his brother, giving the potion to him. Amiboshi then slips into unconsciousness.
