Mitsukake: Sadness

Mitsukake is the most serious and oldest looking member of the Suzaku Seven. He isn't the oldest, but his maturity makes it seem that way. His Suzaku symbol is on his left hand, and it contains healing power, although it can be used only once a day. His sign looks like this:

In Mitsukake's life, the sadness is not simply grief-- it is also the quality of being very serious-- even to the point that we get a little bored with him! He is always thinking things through, though one does not want to see him angry. He will fight like a maniac, and then let his emotions, rather than his brain, control his decisions.

Mitsukake's life-changing event, like his symbol, is pure sadness. He used to be a doctor, along with his girlfriend Shoka. When he was called away to heal someone in a distant village, Shoka was struck with a fatal disease. He hurried home as fast as he could, but it was too late. Shoka died. The very power he used to save others could not save the one he loved most in the world.

The sadness that is MitsukakeBoshi is represented in the sky by the stars that make up Corvus. Mitsukake easily fills the role of the crow, rasping calls of doom. He is all too quick to speak of how difficult things are, and is not very susceptible to happy thoughts. Sadness and the crow waltz along, leaving serious consideration of life, the universe, and everything in their path.

"I guess you have to go on. I warn you, though, the path will be difficult."
