Gaming (Guilty Gear -- 2D fighting -- Playstation)

A little game called Guilty Gear. Hm, this game has been out for about a year now, but hey, I had to give it a page.

The genre of Guilty Gear is straight forward 2D fighting (and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way). Originally planned as a 3D fighter, Arc System thought it best that they make it in 2D, where as not to loose the anime feel they were striving for.

With a cast of 13 characters (three of those being boss characters), there's one for nearly every sort of player's style. If you've played any of Capcom's 2D fighters, you'd be able to pick this game up rather easily, since the moves are all very similar to your standard "hadoken" or "shoryuken". Of course though, they get much more complex than that. Each character has a "Chaos Bar" that fills up according to the amount of damage you inflict on your opponent. Once filled, your character can preform a special move (which usually does a whole pile of damage). When a character's health meter has been drained half way, they can do the special move whenever they please. Along with that, each character can also dash on the ground, while in air, and can jump twice (with exceptions of Chipp - who can jump three times, Millia - who can air dash twice, Kliff - who can only air dash, Potemkin - who can't dash at all, and Justice - who can air dash three times).

Our flashy cast of characters (as described by me and the group of people I play this game with normally):

Sol: One of our main characters. Not much to say other than God, man...those are some tight pants.

Ky: Our other lead character. Holy as all get out, and in line for Hitler's race of blonde haired, blue eyed civilians. Is it just me, or does he have a very Dilandau-ish quality about him?

Kliff: Everyone's favorite old guy. Cloud Strife, age 70, practically. He's rather slow, but that giant meat cleaver of his does more damage than even the strongest of anime skulls can withstand.

Chipp: The Hotdog vendor with a neckbelt and an attitude. Bouncy and quick, he's a lot of fun to play as. He goes as fast as you can press the buttons on that lil controller in yer hand.

*tug tug* show me more Guilty Gear!
