"Doki Doki Highschool Live JoKER" is a manga published in the popular magazine Nakayoshi. Its author is Nomura Akiko (or for you yanks, Akiko Nomura). Even though Nakayoshi is a children's title, the astounding artwork and cool storyline caught my eye.
"Joker" is about a band named, what else, Joker. The plot takes you through their daily life and struggle to remain a band. Since I only have four volumes (and not even the first four volumes) of the comic as it appeared in Nakayoshi, I only know of part of the plot line.
It seems that Joker's main competition is a band called Bloody Rouge. Both of the bands are scheduled to play at the annual "Rok Wave Festival." Bloody Rouge is a very good band, and they're very cocky about it.
Along with that plot line comes the legendary Anime love triangles. It wouldn't be a girl's comic without that in it. The love triangles are, as in most anime, very confusing and complicated.
And here's the other reason to read this comic, for all you ladies out there. SAKURAI-SAN! *glomp*
