The second Dragon Ball Z Movie of the three that were released domestically in the U.S. (along with Dead Zone and The Tree of Might) is still low on plot, but high on action. But "The World's Strongest" is still indeed the best of the three and the entertainment value ranks the highest in this movie.
The action kicks off when the elderly mad scientist, Dr. Cochin (who somehow manages to have all seven Dragon Balls) makes a wish in order to free his fellow scientist, Dr. Wheelo(who now exists as a giant brain). With Wheelo
free, he now seeks out the body of the world's strongest fighter. His first choice is Master Roshi (whom Wheelo and Cochin kidnap along with Bulma.) But Roshi is soon beaten in battle with Wheelo's thugs. Now Wheelo seeks the body
of Gokuu, who is now rushing to the scene. As always, the movie is fast-paced, the action is constant, and there's fighting a plenty (even more so than Tree of Might). The entertainment value ranks highest in this movie, with plenty of impressive action scenes (such as Krillin's encounter with Cochin and the final battle with Dr. Wheelo). The animation quality is on par with the TV Series (not exactly a good thing) and the dubbing is still as strong as ever. Plus the music, which contains the original Japanese music, is a little dated, but it's better than most of the Japanese DBZ tunes out there.
The World's Strongest is solid fireball flinging fun. It's worth checking out.
