NBA/Slam Dunk by Dr.Zero

NBA and Slam Dunk Info on Shohoku

You are my guest, .

Shohoku

  • Chicago Bulls

  • Won the NBA Finals (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996 and, 1997)By leading help of Michael Jordan
  • The best team at this time period
  • In the Sports Illustrated, there was an issue about whether Chicago Bulls was too good for the NBA.
  • In 1990 (when Inoue started Slam Dunk)Dennis Rodman got drafted to Chicago Bulls. He wasn't a good player when he was in Detriot Pistons (Ryonan?). But he helped Micheal Jordan to go to the finals and win the first NBA Champion ever in Chicago Bulls history. (This is like Shohoku, because the basketball team never went to the reginals Final Four or the IH until Sakuragi came to the basketball team.)
  • Started at 1966 and never changed the name
If you don't know that Shohoku is like Chicago Bulls, you REALLY have PROBLEMS. Shohoku uniform color is red and black, which is Bulls' color. More Info

  • NBA All-Stars MVP (1988)
  • NBA All time leader in scoring average for a regular season(32.3), playoffs(34.6), and All- Stars(21.0).
  • Led the NBA in seven straight seasons (1988-1993. He played baseball in 1994 and 1995. So he could have done more if he had stayed ;_;)
  • NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1988)
  • NBA Career average (until 1992) 32.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists

Rukawa and Sawakita are based on Michael Jordan. Rukawa's jersey number at the practice match against Akagi was #23 which is Jordan's number. Also Rukawa's sweat band is placed the same place as Michael Jordan. Rukawa in my sister's fanfic is #9 because Jordan's number in 1992 Olympics Dream Team was #9(I am SO smart. Ru GF: Yeah right. Dr. Zero: What!!), that is why Sawakita's number at the Sannoh and Shohoku match is also #9. Also the fake lay-up Rukawa does at the match with Mitsui and the fake lay-up that Sawakita use a lot is Jordan's special trick shot that he is famous for. More Info.

  • Dennis Keith Rodman (Rebound Hound)(another nick name = Worm "???") 6' 8" 203 cm 210 Ib Forward

  • Known for his rebounds and going for the save of out-of-bound balls.
  • Known for his shaved red hair with frequent dying and all those tatoos in his body
  • Known for his bad attitude and big fouls.

Sakuragi is based on him (you should have known that by now). Sakuragi's nick name is Rebound King, and has red hair that he shaves later in the story that makes him look more like Rodman. Sakuragi has a bad attitude and fouls a lot. Sakuragi is talented in rebounds and saving the out-of-bound balls. And Sakuragi sometimes snaps the ball in the air during rebounds, two or three times. This is so that no one can interfer with his rebounds while he comes down from his jumps, and this is Rodman's special rebound style that he is known for. More Info.

  • Toni Kukoc Forward

  • Drafted from Croatia to Chicago Bulls (I think around 1993-1994)
  • Was #1 player in Croatia (maybe even Europe, not sure)
  • Played in 1992 Olympics AGAINST USA!(Even versed Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen ^_^)
  • #1 sixth man of the Year in (I think) 1996
Takato from my sister fanfic (I created him) is based on him. He is very good at three- point shooting and driving in and shooting a lay-up. He was #1 at Croatia but at the NBA, he is just a sixth-man. Takato Sho's name is sort of like Toni/Takato. (one reason why we got that name) Takato used to be the #1 player in Middle School, Regional MVP in his 2nd year summer and Japan MVP in his 3rd year winter. But when he comes to Shohoku, (Chicago Bulls) he isn't the best player anymore and is a lot like a 6th man. If it wasn't for Akio Kogure, he probably IS the 6th man. . . . . T_T But that is how we wrote in our story.

  • Scottie Pippen 6'6" 200 cm 210 Ib Forward

  • Two Time NBA All-Stars
  • Helped lead Chicago Bulls with assists two straight seasons in NBA (1991, 1992)
  • Ranked third in NBA steals(2.57) in 1990 and fifth(2.35) in 1991
  • Ranked one of the top 20 in 1992 in scoring(14th, 21.0), assists(15th, 7.0), and steals(15th, 1.89)
  • Career averages(until 1992) 15.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists
Much later in our story, Kiyota Nobunaga joins the Shohoku and we are going to base him with Pippen. BUT he isn't NORMALLY based on Pippen, we just chose to do so because Pippen helps Jordon a lot. ( RukawaGF: Ha? Rukawa? Dr.Zero: Shut-up, woman!) Pippen is obviusely a biggie, and we can't just forget him in our stories. So we sort of HAD to make Kiyota join Shohoku. More Info.

  • Patrick Aloysius Ewing New York Knicks Center 7'0" 213 cm 240 Ib

  • All-NBA First Team once(1990) Second Team four times(1988-1992 except 1990)
  • NBA All Rookie Team 1986
  • Led New York Knicks in scoring and blocking in 1986-1992
  • career average (until 1992) 23.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.09 blocked shots
Akagi is based on him. Akagi have the same hair style as him and is a good scorer, rebounder, and blocker. Ewing is one of the best center and is in the top fifty players list. (You think Top 50 is easy? Think How many teams are in NBA. Now how many players. Now how many players in one year. Now try to think how many played in the NBA since NBA has started. ) But his team isn't good enough so he never won the MVP or went to the Finals(like Akagi ;_;). Through out the WHOLE story, Akagi NEVER wins the IH. But he DOES go to the IH, like Ewing who does goes to the top, but always loses to hard teams. More Info
