A late night sketch as I suffer
from insomnia (which I can tell you is very nasty when you end school at
9 PM one day, take an hour to reach home unable to sleep, and wake at 6
AM the next.), I think this Chii came out quite nicely. I do not want to
replicate CLAMP's style, rather I wanted to do Chii in my own comic style,
just to see how different the feel of the character was. Drawn and shaded
in mechanical pencils (0.5 & 0.3 mm, 3B/HB and B or 2B). |

Happy birthday to Cindy! My e-penpal!
The original pic I sent her was a lot more personal, and since I don't
make it a habit to reuse gift-pics (insincerity is a crime!) although I
felt it was selfish not to let others see what I did, I decided to make
a reworked piece just to let you guys see... in this pic, I tried to follow
a little more of CLAMP's style mixed in with my own. Haha. (Chii actually
has a glob of cream on her nose but I don't think anyone can see it.) |

A really tough test of my Photoshop skills, it took me a lot of shots
to get the background photos I wanted right. Overall I think this came
out quite well, since my job depends on how well I can impress my prospective
employers with this. O_oU <-- Sure to go jobless
Hahahaha. Oh, she's Narissha, the 'cheesecake poster girl' from the
first page... I told you she was lizard from the waist down. ^_^U
I did this and the next two before the two above, as you can tell the
methods and styles have changed a bit. |

I don't know about this... it's a kinda mixed bag. Overall it feels
ok, but I felt the details were really lacking something. Probably because
I did this using the Pen tool to trace about 85% of the original lines
out to create the mostly lineless effect... I'll tell you, the Pen tool
is powerful but you need a heck of a lot of patience to get it right...
I call her Flo, from a story idea I conceptualized a while back... I don't
know if this should make it into my Portfolio???? Probably not if I can
get better works out by the time I graduate. |

Another attempt at 'lineless' tracing, this one feels a lot better
(although if I'd done this at the time I updated this page, it would look
a LOT better, maybe I'll go over it again sometime)... I don't know. This
is part of the 'black and white' theme I'm doing for Twu & Flo. And
if you have an IQ of at least a 100, then you can guess this guy's called
Twu. ^^U (It's a joke I thought of in the story. This Way Up.) |

A random sketch I did over the period of several classes during the
boring sessions... I thought I'd follow up on Narissha's species and do
the male version as practice. Turned out pretty well, don'tcha think? ^_^
So I guess the females look more human, the males look more feline,
and the men wear less this time. haha. I guess if you like cat guys you'll
overlook the lower half. *chuckle* |

This was done on the same day as the one above, but during a tedious
40 minutes of something called 'National Education' .(read indoctrination,
but don't tell anyone. It's a conspiracy. *-_^) I definitely need more
practice on doing high-ankled legs like that... he's supposed to be flying
through the air or something. ^^U |
