Rini/ Sailor Chibi Moon



CHARACTER INFORMATION:

Rini comes form the future, the 30th century to be exact. She is the daughter of Prince Darien and Princess Serena in the future Tokyo, called Crystal Tokyo. She is sent from Crystal Tokyo by her mother. Crystal Tokyo has come under attack, and to insure that Rini is not captured, is sent into the past. She is told to locate her mother (in the past). She has to bring the Silver Crystal back to Crystal Tokyo, since its power is the only way the city can be saved. She's much like Serena, although she's a bit more of a brat. She and Darien instantly become attached. None of them immediately know that they are related in any way. Her robotic cat companion takes the place of Luna as her protector, as well as serving as a multipurpose tool. The key she wears allows her to travel through time, it is however "dangerous" to do so. Her persuers are from the Dark Moon of the Negaverse. Rini's name is actually Serena, although for the sake of not confusing the two, the younger one likes to be called Rini. Her name is meant to be short for "Serena". In the original storyline, she is named Usagi like her mother. In that version, she's nicknamed "chibiusa", "chibi" for small, and "usa" which is short for "usagi".


OTHER INFORMATION:

Rini made her debut in episode 54 (Japanese epsisode 60), called Serena Times Two, by falling out of sky on top of Serena's head. That episode starts part 2 of the Sailor Moon R episodes.

Like Serena, Rini hates carrots, yet her favorite animal is a rabbit. Her name is Usagi like her mother which means rabbit, and she is nicknamed chibiusa, which means small Usagi or little rabbit. This fact is often brought up in the original series as a joke, yet DIC seemed to miss this fact almost completely in thier dubbed version.

She reappears agian in Sailor Moon S because her mother sent her back to the past for some training. She Now transforms into Sailor Chibi Moon.

Rini knows that her parents in the 30th century are Serena and Darian and manages not to figure out that the Serena and Darian of the 20th century are the same people because the names weren't _really_ the same in the original series. (DIC screwup)


Rini was tricked by the forces of the Dark Moon, late in Salior Moon R (Japanese episode 85), and became the villain Black Lady.
