She is the big sister that keeps everyone in line and gives advice. She is also Jinny's roommate and best friend. You don't find out much about Doris in the series. When you first meet him he is trying to get Jinny to go to the movies with him. He has had a big crush on Jinny for some time, but she doesn't like him. Then Yuu comes in and Jinny runs to his side and asks him if he want to go the the movies. Brian gets jelous and chalanges Yuu to a basketball match. Yuu wins and this starts the rivalry between Yuu and Brian. Later Yuu tries to explain to Brian that he has no interest in Jinny because he has a girlfriend back home. Brian and Yuu becomes friends, but Brian still can't get over that fact that Jinny likes Yuu.

She refuses to go telling him that she doesn't want to see that movie. Then Yuu comes in the door and Jinny runs to his side and asks him to go see the movie that Brian just asked her to go see. This makes Brian mad. From this point on Jinny tries to get Yuu and break him and Miki apart. Then towards the end of the series she finds out that she can't win Yuu. When you first meet him you get the impression that he is gay, because Jinny tells Yuu that the rumors say that he is not interested in girls. Bill is also into astronomy and loves to view the stars. When showing Yuu around they run into Anju on the Brooklyn Bridge. Bill then asks Yuu if he can ask her out on a date. This begins the relationship with An. You later find out that they both love someone else and they decide to be each other's confidant. In the end Jinny finds out that Bill is in love with her and they get together.

Present Love: Miki Koishikawa Michael is an exchange student from New York and lives with Miki, Yuu and their family. He is Brian's younger brother. Michael is very fluent in his Japanese. he tells Miki that he love the Kung Fu movies and has learned to speak Japanese. When Michael starts school in Toryo the girls go crazy for him, and the fact that he is a blond American. The sophomore girls chase after him, Michael spent his free time running and hiding from them and takes Miki along for the ride. You later find out, when Yuu is gone, that Michael is in love with Miki. He tries to win her over but finds out that Kei is intersted in her too. So he chanlenges Kei to see which one she will go out with. Needless to say Kei wins. In the end he is happy for Miki knowing that she is happy.
