Once again, one of the most fun-filled events in bowling, the Philly-Pinoy Bowling Tournament opened its third season with eager enthusiasm last September 25, 1998, at the Facenda-Whitaker Lanes in Norristown, PA.  

This season will again be exciting with 24 teams scheduled to play with a total of 96 participants mostly from the greater Philadelphia area. They were welcomed in a brief but refreshing opening message by Marilyn Montero, chairman of the event. She also emphasized 'fun' and 'friendship' as among the major goals of the games.  

The games were enlivened and kicked-off by the ceremonial bowl of top male and female bowler from the 2nd Philly-Pinoy, Bono Ortiz and Mina Cruz - the  +Titanic , duo.  

The 3rd Philly-Pinoy will run weekly through September 25, 1998 to April 1999 and is likely to prove just as effervescent as the 1997-1998 event. All the ingredients are there to make it an exciting event. Our ABC membership, the participation of new bowlers, and the aspirations and challenge of the previous top ten players give us reason to believe this will be a delightful tournament.
