Waters Under Earth
This is one of the more unusual storylines that I've come across in my readings. We all know that Ranma battled Saffron at Mount Phoenix, and ultimately triumphed over the great lord with no small amount of effort, but was his victory rightly won, or was it preordained in prophecy, destined by fate, milennia ago?
There is a organization at work, dark in both its members and its purpose, that has opperated behind behind the scenes for as long as history has existed. They are there, pulling the strings of society, manipulating those that would bend, breaking those that wouldn't. All the time, watching... waiting for the phoenix to fall, the first sign of the propehcy that heralds the beginning of their dark conquest of the world, and an end to everything.
However... are men truly bound by the chains of fate, or are their choices their own? Can Ranma put an end to the plans of those who would destroy all in their path? You decide. ^_^
The More Things Change...: We've all heard that nature abhores a vacuum (and they really drive dogs nuts 8^), so when Ranma and Akane decide that maybe this engagement thing isn't so bad, someone has to fill the void for all the unusual events that happen around Nerima. Finally someone else gets all the wierd challengers, all the bouncing fiancees/girlfriends, all the... well you get the idea. It just so happens that his someone is... Ryoga!
Remember, if you've written a fic that you think I'd like and want me to put up, or if come across one or two that are good reads or just plain fun, write me and tell me where they are! I love getting mail.
Here's another section that I've dedicated to the authors who have contacted me about their works. Regardless of whether you're a newbie(like myself) or a seasoned writer, it's always nice to know that there is someone who appreciates your hard work and the fact that they've laid out a piece of themselves that others will see. For these people, I've created yet another award, the ASPIRING AUTHOR award,(Oooooo. Ahhhhhh.) and reserved a place for them here in my domain. Some of these may be located elsewhere on my page so don't be surprised if you don't find them all down here. As I mentioned before, I'm always looking out for new favorites, so if you've got a fic, tell me about it.
How would you react if you knew angels existed? What would you say if you met one face to face? What would you do if you found one, in all her resplendid beauty and grace, shackled like some beast of burden, forever denied the chance to soar in the clouds and sky?
Ranma and Akane meet an angel, shackled and beaten, and decide... to free her. However, they now have to deal with the reprecussions of their actions.
Hunter Kid has written a number of short fics as well as several series including one called Ryoga 1/2 where, yup, you guessed it, Ryoga falls into the Nyaniichuan, Spring of Drowned Girl. Most of his stories are Ranma fics, but he also has written some tales based on 'Record of Lodos Wars'.
Hidden Talents This is a collection of short fics dealing with the Ranma cast. Everyone has something that makes them special, unique to other people around them. Ranma and the others are as we know, far from ordinary, but that doesn't mean that they aren't people too, with secret dreams, desires, and... talents.
The Fragile Clay Matrix is a tale by Story-Weaver about two of the least known characters of the Ranma series, Ranma's highschool friends (and personal tormentors about his love life) Hiroshi and Daisuke. He has taken these two underdeveloped characters and given them depth and personality, and then thrown them back in with the regular cast. The results are not what you might expect. Story-Weaver's style took me a little while to adjust to, but afterwards I found it was easy to get in with the flow of the story. A lot of effort was put into this story, and there still more yet to come, and as a result it is quite long. I recommend it, but be prepared to set aside a good block of time if you plan on finishing it once you've started.
