The Kingdom of Hanover is a non-territorial nation-state. It
has citizens and a government in the same way as other
countries, but it doesn't have any territory or borders.
Citizens of Hanover come from all over the world, and all of
them have dual-citizenship: in other words, they are citizens of
Hanover as well as the country where they live.
Hanover is not a simulation or
role-playing game but rather
a real, functioning nation. Our citizens share a
"common culture, history and language"1,
and they are organised under the government of the king and
Parliament. However, Hanover's population is extremely small
compared to most nations, and it does not have the same power
over its citizens' everyday lives as the governments in London
or Paris, for example. For this reason, Hanover is often called
a "micronation"2.
