Hanover is a constitutional monarchy, which means it has
a king whose power is limited by a special contract with the
people called a constitution. You can read Hanover's
constitution here.
Citizens are elected to the House of Commons, and nobles sit on
the House of Lords. Together, these Houses make up Parliament, which makes laws to
organise the nation and create new initiatives. The king has to
agree to all laws passed by Parliament.
Even though there's a king, democracy is very important
in Hanover. If people don't like what the government is doing,
they can simply leave, so the government must always do what is
in the best interests of the people. Hanover's citizens are its
biggest asset, and all functions of government are focused on
building and strengthening our community.
Anyone can become a citizen of Hanover and a
member of our community. All you have to do is fill out an
application, which will be dealt with by a government official. Once you are a citizen, you will be able to access
special areas, vote in elections, or even run for Parliament, as
well as many other benefits and opportunities.
