The Abandoned Valentine.

Ginny scrambled behind a wall, her eyes locked on the back of Malfoy's head. His hair shone, sleek as silk. Ginny loved his hair, but what she loved most of all was Valentines Day. It came around once a year and today just happened to be that time of year. She loved the romance, the couples holding hands and the red and pink hearts decorated all around the Great Hall.

For one Ginny never had a valentine to link hands with and romance with around this time of year but maybe this year her luck would change. Hermione Granger, one of her best friends, had warned her about Valentines Day and how it could be a heart breaker. But she was determined not to agree with her for so much as a second and now she was confident and sure that no one would break her heart on a delicate day like this. Not even someone who loathed her as much as Malfoy.

The halls were emptying left and right as students scurried to class. Ginny didn't care if she was late.

A small red envelope dropped from Malfoy's bag before he turned to leave for class. Her heart skipped a beat but nonetheless the note caught the Slytherin’s eyes and he bent to retrieve it from the floor. Ginny's heart was pounding against her chest as he opened it carelessly. This was it, she had been up all night writing and rewriting her Valentine to Malfoy and she was positive it was perfect by now.

Malfoy slipped out a heat-shaped piece of pink parchment and immediately, his silvery metallic eyes began to scan the face of the Valentine. His eye brow raising higher as he read.

Malfoy,
In your refined eyes I'm nothing more to you then filth and disgrace to your kind and you despise me with every interaction we exchange. But I just wish for you to know that in my eyes your much much more. Your the desire to my cravings, the wanted clench to my thirst and satisfaction that I long for. You loath me but do you really know me? Why not attain more about me and I promise you won't regret it. I long for you. Will you be my Valentine?

Ginny watched intently as Mafloy calmly and ever so neatly folded the paper heart and turn to continue to class. But she didn't dare take her eyes off him for as he passed the garbage bin he ripped her Valentine in half, and then again and again and again before dropping it into the bin.

Her heart had sank so low she thought it had dropped out of her stomach if it hadn't been shattered into millions of pieces. A lump formed in her throat as she watched Malfoy run his fingers through his hair casually and turn the corner to Snape's class. Tears began to stream from her eyes uncontrollably.

She ran, her best friend's voice ringing through her head, "Valentines Day is without a doubt the worst day of the year!"
