Anchor Hocking Depression Blue Bubble Oval Platter

Anchor Hocking Bubble Oval Platter This Oval Platter were made between 1940 and 1965 by Anchor Hocking Glass in this simple, practical geometric pattern. The ice blue color goes all through the glass and the glass is their durable "Heat Proof" formula, which is much more resistant to heat stress breakage than regular Depression glass.

Collectors call this pattern "Bubble", and sometimes "Bullseye". It often used to harmonize with other patterns.

Listed and pictured in the book Collectible Glassware of the 40s, 50s, and 60s, 8th Edition, 2006, by Gene and Cathy Florence, on pages 16-18.

The extremely clear ice blue glass rings nicely, indicating post-war lead content, to improve clarity. The lack of any glow under long wave UV, and only a weak green-yellow glow under short wave UV are consistent with Anchor glass of this era.

In mint condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs.
