This unique Pendant and Earring set features luscious natural Gold in Quartz from active California Gold mines and the Pendant features mystical Jade from the Polar Jade Mines of British Columbia.
The five 7.5 x 5.5 mm oval cut stones total ~ 4 carats of gemstones! They are all mounted in solid 14 carat yellow gold settings. The Pendant is on an 18 inch 14 kt gold chain. The earrings are 11/16 inches, or about 18 mm, long.
Gold in quartz was formed deep underground when both were in a molten state. As they cooled, veins of gold became trapped in quartz crystals. When miners find those rare pieces with plenty gold dispersed in pure white quartz they kept in it's natural state for jewelry. During the California Gold Rush, an impressive piece of Gold in Quartz jewelry told admirers that this was the owner of a particularly rich gold mine.
