WARNING: Although most of the pictures are of a terrible tragedy taking place, some of the pictures in the "Terrorists Attack" section are extremely graphic and of a highly disturbing nature.

This web site is kind of my way of dealing with the terrible tragedy that took place on 11 September 2001 in New York City. I still can't imagine how anyone could be warped enough to not only destroy and eliminate two of the largest structures on earth and kill thousands of innocent people including hundreds who were on the planes they used to implement this horrible act of terrorism, but also to honestly think they will be blessed by God for doing it! September 11, 2001
I get a phone call in the morning telling me to turn on my TV. I turned on the TV and saw the towers on fire. The media repeatedly showing clips from different angles of planes hitting the towers and exploding out the other side of the building. My first thought was the engineer in me thinking "Oh those buildings were designed to withstand plane crashes." All of a sudden, the tower in the back starts to smoke so much I couldn't see it anymore. Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed that it was imploding. It wasn't until several reporters confirmed its collapse that I finally believed what had just happened.

Now I'm sitting there, almost in shock, slowly saying to myself "Somebody just dropped one of the twin towers... They dropped the World Trade Center!" About the fourth time I said that to myself, the tears were really building up. How could someone do something like that? All of a sudden the TV reporter gets my attention. I watch in total disbelief as the second tower drops to the ground. I can't explain the feeling I had inside but I know you felt it as well.

My wife is beside me in shock but I knew she didn't quite get the magnitude of this horror. The tallest building she has ever seen was just over 20 stories. Heck, the largest CITY she ever lived in has less people than the two towers held on a daily basis! In her entire life she had never imagined that a single building could hold TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND people... and some IDIOT just dropped TWO OF THEM! I'm from NYC and have been in the towers many times. Anyway, I explained it to her then realized that maybe it would have been better for her if I didn't paint such a vivid picture in her head.

Now it's time to go to work but I can't pull myself away from the TV. Part of me is just waiting for the next thing to happen. After a while I realize I should have been at work over an hour ago, so I leave for work without calling or emailing anyone. I just figured if they couldn't understand why I'm late then I probably don't wanna be working there. On the way to work I realized there wouldn't be any way for me to watch the news while I'm there (forgot about the internet, DUH!) so I stopped at the store along the way and bought a TV to watch while at work. Listened to the radio all the way there too. Tried to call my relatives in NYC but as expected, all phones are in use. I have a daughter from a previous marriage who takes the train to school. The train stops at WTC along the way, directly UNDER the towers.

I get to work and immediately email her since the phone was not an option. I turn on my msn messenger and aol messenger. Plug in the TV and turn it on. Now I have TV going, abcnews.com streaming video, cnet.com streaming video, anything that can keep me informed. Finally, a relative in NYC messages me on msn messenger. All (my family) are accounted for except for my daughter. But soon afterward I get an email from her mother confirming that they're ok. Train service was stopped before she left for school.

Still watching TV when WTC 7 falls to the ground. Now there's amateur video coming in from all over the place. People running from the huge wall of dust coming their way. Other people jumping out of windows in WTC 1 and 2. Replays over and over of the planes smacking into the buildings. Close-ups of the enormous hole in the side of the buildings. But somehow I couldn't get myself to turn it off. Nobody's getting any work done. The local news radio people are interviewing people on the streets here. Everybody's real shook up. Everyone except for some BIMBO who was out trying to buy shoes and COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE MALL WOULD BE CLOSED because some buildings were destroyed 3000 miles away! This is the kind of idiot who just has no clue about anything that doesn't directly involve themselves. I can just imagine a hypothetical conversation with her...

Friend: Did you hear about the twin towers?
Bimbo: No.
Friend: Yeah terrorists flew commercial planes into the buildings and they collapsed. 6 thousand people died. It was horrible!
Bimbo: Bummer. Wanna go with me to the mall to get some shoes?
Friend: Don't you have a brother who works in one of those buildings?
Bimbo: OH MY GOD!!!!!
You know, I bet the reporter could have strangled that bitch and when the cops got there all he had to do was play back the tape. The cops would have just kicked her dead body a few times and sent the reporter on his way.

Anyway, like I said before, I think I just needed to write this stuff down to kinda get it out of my system.
