Yeraldin is my Sponsored Child from Colombia. She is fourteen years old now, and is a partner with Compassion International. I think it is a real privilege to be able to be a part of her life. yaraldin.

We get to write each other letters on a regular basis. She lets me know what's going on in her life, and I do the same. She constantly tells me that she is praying for me. That is the best thing about being a sponsor, having a child thousands of miles away in a war-torn country, tell you that she is praying for you. Every time she writes, she sends art that she has done for me.

For around a dollar a day, you can make a tremendous impact in a child's life. A child that has never had the things we take for granted, like hot running water, good nutrition, freedom of speech, civil rights, and many other freedoms that we enjoy. Compassion is an organization that is Chist-Centered. It not only makes sure that these children are schooled, well fed, and taken care for on the outside, but they make sure these kids know about the love and acceptance that Jesus has for them, thus taking care for them on the inside.
