OUR ENGAGEMENT

March 23, 2002

Heart Line Separator

March 23, 2002 started off on a good note. For some reason, that morning, I woke up at 5AM (I crashed out on the sofa in the living room the night before). Tiffany woke up shortly after me, and I mentioned to her that we should go out to have breakfast. The first place that came to mind was to go to The Waffle House. It's Tiffany's favorite breakfast place (she constantly tells me how she and her parents used to always go there while on road trips). So I figured, why not go? So we got ready and went. It was just a normal breakfast together, and I still felt pretty good for being up so early on a Saturday morning. After we got home from breakfast, I told Tiffany that I would take her in to work (because I just felt like doing it) and that after I picked her up when she got out, that I would take her to the mall to go "wedding ring shopping" for the evening (at this point, she was already pretty excited). So we did. I picked her up from work at 5:30PM and we headed straight to the Valley View Mall here in North Dallas. While there, we browsed through several jewelry and department stores. After going through about four or five different stores, nothing really seemed to catch our eyes. Finally, at the last place we stopped in, this jewelry store called Helzberg, we spotted a heart-shaped diamond solitare (which is Tiffany's favorite cut and hard to find). She tried it on and her eyes just lit up! She was even shaking from the excitement! It was pretty neat to see her that happy. Anyway, after talking with the saleswomen, Tiffany and I left to think and talk about it. We went down to the food court to have some dinner because we were both hungry, and at the same time, we talked more about the ring and our options. Finally, I realized how much Tiffany liked the ring that I knew we had to go back to get it. So we went back to Helzberg and purchased the ring. Already having the ring in our possesion, there pretty much wasn't a need to delay and hold anything back any longer, so I asked her to marry me. And she said yes.
