Hobbies & Interests
I like gardening (mostly indoors). I grow hibiscus, oleander, african violets.
I like cooking. I'm not a gourmet cook but a good cook. I bake bread occasionally. I cook healthy food, most of the time :-). I like entertaining and getting together with friends.
I like to go to bars occasionally, mostly in the summer when I can take advantage of the patios.
I like people watching.
I like making wine. (but I'm not a heavy drinker)
I like going to theatre (big musicals... surprise... surprise :-)) and movies.
I was one of the founding members of the Toronto Rainbow Lions Club.
I helped start a singles group at the church (MCCT) for men and women. I did all the brochures, posters and helped to organize events.
I volunteer in a Community Care Hospice program that specializes in caring for people with terminal illnesses. I have had 2 clients in the last 2 years and have found it to be a very rewarding experience.
I love to travel. I have done a lot of traveling in Europe, South America and the US. I especially liked Spain, Portugal and Italy. (I speak a little tourist Spanish) Photography is a hobby but only when I travel.
My favourite singer is Roch Voisine. My favourite books are "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Steven Covey and "Are You The One For Me? Knowing who's right and avoiding who's wrong" By Barbara DeAngelis, Ph.D..
I try to workout a couple of times per week at the gym. In the summer I like to walk, hike, swim and ride my bicycle. I don't smoke.
I on the steering committee of Out and Out (an outdoor, and sometimes indoor, recreation club)
I'm not much into competitive sports. (another surprise...!)
My Personality
I'm generous, honest, trustworthy, dependable and pretty even-keeled.
I take what people say at face value and don't try to read between the lines.
I'm easy going, I don't get jealous and I don't get upset easily.
I am a combination extrovert/introvert, depending on the situation.
I have a sense of humour and value that in other people.
Material things are not important to me. I would rather spend my money on travel, dinners out or my friends, than on fine crystal, an expensive watch or painting.
I have two families, my relatives and my close gay friends. Both are equally important to me.
I like hugging and touching people that I care about.
I love cuddling up on the couch, with my man, while watching a good movie and eating popcorn.
