sam on shrodinger - yeah i've heard about cat/box thing before but with some extras you haven't mentioned. Once the cat is in the box you don't know whether its alive or dead but it being alive can be assigned a probability curve which, with a box of equa 50/50 chance of death, is 0.5 chance of it being alive. The quantum point is (I think)that we don't know where an electron is at any given point but we can assign a probability curve to an area where the electron should be. or something. If you want cool theoretical physics try a web search for "Introduction to Superstring Theory" sam on violence - your eventual resolution of the nasty scally situation was commendable. Violence isn't something we can exclude from society totaly, it's one of those deep down ancestral things that humans ignore too much. Decades of cars, suits, lampposts etc have made huma s more able to deal with violent urges but alcohol unlocks this. What would be really good if people were encouraged to smoke more dope and drink less alcohol. Street violence like you and I have expeirianced will go on until society deals with it and giv s these kids something to do. A far more damaging and disgusting form of violence is that of domestic violence towards women and kids. I don't the stats on domestic violence and alcohol but im sure many abused women would be better off if their oppressors had a couple of spliffs instead of filling themselves with alcohol and bashing the people closest to them. I could easily go on for another 15 Meg but I'd better stop now.
