Introductory Note: This issue is the second part of a two-part story featuring Superman and the Forgotten Heroes (Animal Man, Cave Carson, Congorilla, Dolphin, Immortal Man, Rip Hunter) fighting a group known as the Forgotten Villains. In the first part of the story (DC Comics Presents # 77), it is revealed that the Forgotten Villains's plot is masterminded by their sorcerous members, the Enchantress, who lives in the Forgotten Heroes' present, and Krakow, who lives in their past, and that it involves their acting as a triad with a sorcerer from the future, the era in which Space Cabby lives. They traveled into that future era in order to thwart the Forgotten Villains' plan by stopping that third sorcerer.
Synopsis: Superman and the Forgotten Heroes fight a member of the Forgotten Villains. After extracting from him the location of the third sorcerer, which they need to thwart the Forgotten Villains' plans, the heroes land on the planet Qaria to seek help in getting to that location, the planet Yggardis. The Qarians do not engage in space travel themselves, but they are able to contact Space Cabby, who takes the heroes from the past away. The villains, using magic, damage the cab, forcing Space Cabby to land on the nearest world and radio for help before the cab is destroyed. Their distress call is picked up by Chris KL-99 and his friends, who take them to their destination, the planet they thought an enemy sorcerer would reside on, only to discover that the sorcerer in question is the planet Yggardis itself, which is a living entity. The heroes battle the living planet under its surface, and their cause is unwittingly aided by the villains, who squabble amongst themselves in a power struggle. Superman, the Forgotten Heroes, Space Cabby and Chris KL-99 and his friends escape the living planet and attack it from space, causing the villains' magical plot to fall apart.
Notes: Space Cabby's role in this story is not as a featured character or major guest star, but this issue is indexed here because it is significant as his first appearance in almost thirty years as well as one that sets him firmly within the DC Universe.
