Synopsis: Ilda walks to work in a rainstorm. She passes under some electrical wire that had just been severed by lightning, and the live wire touches her and rattles her electronic brain. She walks around aimlessly, wondering who she is, until she sees a poster for a movie about the Slinker from Saturn and assumes she's him. Later, Star Hawkins is trying to find out where his missing secretary is, but his search is interrupted by a news bulletin reports a break-in at an insurance company. Star rushes there, and finds that the insurance company's office was broken into the same way the Slinker had broken in the previous year. He enters the building through the ventilation system, and is surprised to see Ilda, dressed like the Slinker, committing the crime. Ilda grabs him and throws him out a window, and Star is only barely able to save himself. Star and Ilda, in their separate places, each hear of the Crime Clown's escape from prison. Star goes after the Clown, while Ilda, whose electronic brain is still malfunctioning, is convinced that that's who she really is. Star figures out that the Crime Clown will try to rob the museum as he did before he was incarcerated, and he arrives at the museum just in time to see the Crime Clown do that. Star gets to the room the Crime Clown is robbing, but is soon overpowered by gas from the Crime Clown's outfit. Suddenly, Star sees Ilda, dressed as the Crime Clown, about to break into the room. When Ilda gets there, she sees the Crime Clown pointing a gun at Star, and this jolts her memory back to normal. Ilda takes out the Crime Clown, and she and Star recieve a sizable reward for bringing him back.

Detective rating: Star does a good job of figuring out where the Crime Clown will strike. There really wasn't any other detecting in this story. 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.
