Recycling Center

This is the where we (your Town of Washington) take care of your waste items, from paper to plastic, to metal, to ickk.

Our Hours vary depending on the season. This is for your convenience and to save you tax dollars.

From March 16  to Nov 31 the recycling center is open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00PM Wed and Sat.

And from  Dec 1 to March 15 we are open the same hours but only on Saturday. (We are not open Wednesdays in order to save our (your) tax dollars!)

We appreciate when you fully separate your recycling materials into their proper categories. This saves us time effort and tax dollars. Those of you who do not take the time make the rest of us pay.

Plastic:     clean all numbers of plastic

All containers in same bin please take off lids, rinse and try to flatten as good as possible. If lids are off bottles and jugs they will flatten some and take less space.

Not Allowed Items:

Construction Material

Other waste material from remodeling or new construction. (Most contractors have a rubbish bin on site and remove that material when done.)

Appliances, Air conditioners, and Refrigerators must be pumped of Freon and have a sticker attached or you must pay a $25 charge. Other appliances ok.

Everything that comes to the recycling center now costs the township money to remove. We no longer show a profit or break even on recycling anything.

PLEASE do not leave recyclables or anything for the dumpster outside of the recycling center when the center is closed.
