Nick Hawthorne's VTEC Integra
To date his best 1/4 mile time is 13.9 seconds, at the MAy 1999 JDRA Drag Wars 1.
Th following pictures were taken at Nick's first appearance at Vernamfield in 1998.
Nick on the line against a Nissan Skyline 2.5L Turbo, during qualifying. The Integra was the winner.
Round 1 of ET Sportman Class1, Nick vs 'Lovie' in a 2.0L BDA Escort. Nick beat the Ford to advance to the next round.
Round 2 saw Nick up against the Turbo Starlet of Ian Causwell. Nick beat the Starlet to advance to the final against Jason Rich driving a Drag Turbo equipped Integra, who he also beat. Nick went home the ET Sportsman Class 1 Champion, in his first race meet at Vernafield.
The baseline dyno run of the Integra. Only modifications are a HKS PowerFlow, and a MSD 6A ignition amplifer. No exhaust mods etc.
The Integra when using Nitrous. On the dyno we discovered that the NOS system was leaking, at the distribution block. With both Nitrous Oxide and gasoline leaking, the Integra still managed to put down good hp numbers. Repairs have been made, and when the car is tested again, the dyno runs will be posted. - Stephen Gunter - 5th October 1998.
