Chronicles of the Current Campaign of the Adventurers of America

The A of A is in a meeting to determine if two new heroes should be admitted to the team. While the two candidates were demonstrating thier abilities an aide runs in waving a sheet of paper. He cries "Bull's just escaped from Rykers! The warden wants to know if you can get him back before he has to alert the public! Oh, and Psion, Dr. Acheron wants to see you."

Psion goes to Dr. Asheron's office. Dr. Gina Harrell is there. She's an attractive brunette with a bit of a crush on Psion.
Dr. Asheron: Dr. Harrell here has a request to make of you.
Dr. Harrell: Our observations indicate that Pluto's orbit is degrading by degrees. It may not seem like much, since it's falling away, but I suspect that there may be an outside force acting on it.
Psion (stroking his chin): Interesting...I'll see if anyone would like to accompany me on the Warp Shuttle for a look see.

The rest of the team has gone out to find Bull and put him back in prison. They find him in the south park near the harbor. (I wish I had taken better notes at that first game! If anyone has notes, please share with me)

The Real Deal Between Bill and Bull

Bill discovered his ability 2 years ago when he was hospitalized after an auto accident. His leg was broken and he was quite bored. While getting a sponge bath by a nurse, he fantasized about switching places with her and getting out of there. It happened. He left the hospital in her body and went out for a night on the town. When he came back in the morning his body was strapped down and there were signs of a fight, like bruises and fresh cuts. He switched back and was immediately unconscious. The nurse collapsed after the transfer and was fired for her "gross negligence".

When bill found it difficult to get and keep a job, he started to think of ways to use his ability to score some cash. He took over a bank teller and walked out at lunchtime with less than $50,000. The teller was fired and brought up on criminal charges. The teller had gone into a police station while in Bills body to ask for help. This shook Bill further and cemented his need to keep "his" body safe.

Bill took a job as a temp worker with a major temp firm in the city. This gave him opportunity to plan occasions where he could steal as somebody else. Several times he would switch with a female employee who had keys or financial responsibility by luring them into a closet, conducting the crime, switching back and make his escape before the disorientation wore off. After a couple of near misses and being questioned by the police, Bill thinks of another use.

He takes a janitorial job at Rykers. His plan was to find a super villian and see if he could switch with him.

Midway through his 1st shift, he's mopping outside Bull's cell and strikes up a conversation with him. Bill offers him a piece of gum through the bars. Switches with him when they contact. Bull in Bill's body feels weak and small, but soon realizes that he's free. He walks out of the prison while Bill in Bull's body freaks out behind him and starts tearing the place up. "Bull" is sedated and monitored, then put back on the daily psych appointments. He is getting very worried about his body. He exhibits none of Bulls problems and the psych thinks he's nearly cured. During a session with the Psych, security is lax and "Bull" escapes.

"Bill" has been locked up since day one, when he attacked a red VW Bug. He was injured and is now recovering in the same hospital where he first discovered his ability. He's on a strong sedative.

Before the team solved this one, I think Bill was in everyone's body. It was fun to swap character sheets around the room and have players playing thier character with a different physical presence.

Who's Pulling on Pluto's Leash?

Psion was able to convince the team to go on a joyride in the Warp Shuttle out to see what may lay beyond Pluto. The team caught up on the latest astronomical developments in the Kuiper Disk en-route.

Pulse is in the pilot seat, and Halo has joined the team temporarily since she has no memory prior to meeting the team earlier today. (They just don't want a superpowered amnesiac teenage girl wandering around the city with nothing to do)

Before reaching Pluto, Galax is able to "see" the gravitational field that is pulling on Pluto. He steers the Warp Shuttle closer until they discover a sphere about the size of a small planetoid covered entirely in neutronium and powered by anti-matter engines. Scanners are worthless. About when the team gets thier jaws off the floor, a small golden sphere the size of a softball blips into the cabin.

This gold sphere begins to unfold, revealing complex insides. This is an emissary and has been sent specifically to communicate with the team.

Psion and Halo are instrumental in forging a bond with the little robot and he offers to take them inside to get answers. Pulse volunteers to stay with the ship.

Galax does a little exploration of his own outside the ship and discovers that there are other robots ready to defend the large ship if necessary.

The team goes into the ship and is carried along a large corridor to the center of the sphere. Once inside, Psion goes mentally looking for life forms and finds none. As the floating platform they are on arrives at the cavernously large room in the center of the ship, our team is treated to the sight of this room configuring itself to fit the needs of it's human visitors. A floor appears and flattens out, lights come on and the right blend of gases fill the chamber. When they step off the platform and into the room, The Lady walks out to greet them. She is downright alien. Her body is covered by an elaborate robe, but it's obvious she has multiple legs under there. Her face (we can only assume) has a distinct symetrical pattern that makes it difficult to discern location or even presence of anything except eyes. There are two shiny, all black eyes set very far apart on the face. When she speaks it is not verbal but mental.

They are the fore runner of a colony ship that has been heading for our solar system for a long time. (Time being a very difficult thing to communicate). After much backing and forthing on measurement systems, it is determined that the colony ship will arrive in about 200 years and will expect a new home. This ship is full of robots who's duty is to create a planet for the colonists. The Lady explains in patient detail, how they will take up a position in the asteroid belt. The robots will gather all the asteroid material and form the new planet on the opposite side of the orbit. The ship and the new planet will always be exactly opposite each other as they orbit the Sun. This planet will then be terraformed, seeded, and prepared for the arrival of the colonists. The Lady assures our team that hers is a peaceful race and does not wish to cause any harm to Earth. There are many political negotiations that lead The Lady to assign an Emissary to accompany the A of A back to Earth. This Emissary is to gather information on the liklihood of acceptance by humans of another race in thier solar system.

The Lady forms an Emissary based on the appearance of those in front of her. Emissary arrives with a body like Halo's and a blank face (because Psion and Galax wear helmets and SUMO is a robot). When Halo points out that she is the only one here who looks like a normal person, Emissary quickly changes her appearance to match Halo's, she is however entirely gold.

The Lady gives each member of the team a gift. Psion asks for and receives her race's collected liturature. Halo asks for and recieves the small golden robot that teleported into the ship, she names him Floyd. SUMO asks for and recieves a superior archive copy, if at any time he is destroyed, The Lady will remake him exactly as he is today. Galax asks for nothing, so she gives him a token for a return trip. When she is informed that one of the team has stayed with the ship, she gives another token for him.

Terror in Texas

Psion gets an e-mail from one of his e-fans about a faith healer who is leaving a trail of destruction in his path. Galax gets a handful of clippings about a town in Texas. Floyd (Halo's ET Robot Pet) plots out the towns that have been affected on a map. Psion gets online with SpyDr and gets a first hand account from a survivor named Cindy. She plans to stop this faith healer on her own if she has to. The team decides that if nothing else, they have to go make sure Cindy doesn't kill an innocent man.

Pulse and Halo fly to Texas, using the time to test Halo's flight capabilities and limits. SUMO arranges to have local authorities hold Cindy, then flies to Texas. Psion takes the Warp Shuttle and Galax flies in under his own power.

As the team arrives, Cindy fires a rifle at the faith healer, Tex Carson. Tex is surrounded by seven people who used to be circus freaks. Descriptions here. SUMO magnetically grabs the rifle from Cindy. Pulse swoops down and grabs Cindy. Halo flies over to Tex and hovers about five feet above him. She does her weakness detection mojo and discovers that Tex is dead and perforated. The Bearded Lady punches Halo in the leg. SUMO shoots the poor hirsute lady with his patented paralyzing ray, she goes down.

One of his followers is bandaging Tex, covering up the bullet wound while the rest hover nearby. Halo lauches an ice attack against the dead guy. He's now dead and frozen solid, covered in a thick layer of ice.

The Bearded Lady gets up and the rest of Tex's crew all back away from him. Psion psionically scans Tex and confirms Halo's declaration of death. There's nobody in the body. Val takes off and kicks Halo, Halo now has an orange glow around her. Pulse gives the signal and lets loose with a blinding flash. He blinds the Geek, Dogboy and the Fat Lady, and thankfully none of the heroes.

SUMO flattens the Bearded Lady with his paralysis ray again. As soon as she goes down, the Pinhead and Lizard pile on top of her. Pinhead creates a force field around them. Pulse fires two shots, one of them ripples over the force field but the other one penetrates.

Psion performs an area thought scan on the tent. There are seven live bodies and eight intelligences, two in Pinhead.
