Shadowstar is part of a team that has a very rich and colorful history. I arrived fairly late on the scene and can only chronicle those adventures I've lived through. If you were ever a member of the Superhero team based in Ambler, PA - The Adventurers of Ambler, or the team they grew into based in Philadelphia, PA - The Adventurers of America, please feel free to send me any stories you remember. I'll try to get them up on this site.

Shadowstar's Origin Story

When I was just a normal teenage girl hanging out in the Willow Grove Mall - way back when - I happened to be on the scene when the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants was trashing the place. The Adventurers of Ambler showed up to save the day and I sat back to watch my all-time favorite hero - Fire Hawk - show these bums the door. When Pyro got a good shot in (feathered wings are quite flammable), I rose in defense of my idol. Unfortunately, I was a little careless. The flame power that I had previously only been able to get to about 1 candlepower (looked like a lighter flame coming out of my finger) suddenly grew to incredible proportions and hit the fuel pack that Pyro carries around on his back. BOOM! Huge explosion, 8 innocent bystanders died and in the resultant panic, the bad guys got away.

Half the team was ready to lock me up, but Fire Hawk argued my case and managed to get me on the team. I didn't know that his argument was "Better to have the super powered kid in our sight than to know she's out there somewhere." What finally turned the tables in my favor was when Kali came to kill the injured Fire Hawk and I fought her hand to hand and won (actually 2 hands to 6 hands - the odds were really against me). The team trained with me and I did get better control of my flame. They immediately saw the usefulness of my shadow field though (I think).

Well, that's what I do - fight crime and evil alien empires with shadows, great hand to hand fighting skills and my new fangled stasis field (long story - lost the flame power but got the stasis field).
