1963 THUNDERBIRD SPORTS ROADSTER
Complete Rotisserie Restoration
in progress now
July 24, 2006
I'm making progress slowly but surely.
The weather has been great around here so it's pretty hard to be in the shop
all the time. As you can see, the carburetor has been rebuilt and is ready to go
on the car. I'll probably get the engine components installed and running this week.
I also fot the top frame all together and adjusted, and the new top is installed.
All the top and deck hoses, solenoids, relays and limit switches have been
cleaned and reconditioned and are back where they belong. I still have to put the
flip lid on. I also started adjusting the windows and will work on that in between
other things. I still need to align the front end too.
I just broke down and sent the front door panels in to Dash Specialists to get them
recovered. I didn't send them to Just Dashes because they pi$$ed me off.
I wanted to purchase a little extra material from them so I could repair the door
panels myself. I wanted to get the material from them so it would match the dash
they did for me, and the panels were in very good condition with just a crack on
each armrest which I could have done myself. They wouldn't sell me the material
because they wanted to re-cover them themselves, and I think that was pretty $hitty of
them and I don't like to deal with places like that.
So, I sent the panels to their competitor to get the complete job done. I likely
will send all my future restorations to Dash Specialists. I'd appreciate it if you
would too or at least mention to Just Dashes what you read here.
