Introduction

Temasek Junior College Astronomy Club was founded in 1990 as part of the Science Council before turning 'independant' in 1991. Despite being a 'young' ECA in Temasek Junior College, the club is one of the first to be set up in Singapore, and is the FIRST institutional-based Astronomy Club in Singapore to set up her very own homepage in the world-wide-web as you are experiencing it now! Ever since, the club has spontaneously spread the wonders of Astronomy into the college, opening the minds of curious individuals to things one does not normally think or know of. Our wonderful teachers-in-charge are Mr Chan Cheow Wee and Mr Sean Choo.

Astronomy is gradually becoming a popular field of study in Singapore. The National University of Singapore has started a course on Astronomical Studies and building an observatory for their own which amounts to tens of millions of dollars. Even students of Primary schools to Polytechnics are involved actively in the many Astronomical Events held each year. I hereby sincerely wish that as humans, we could be more conscious of the world out there...ASTRONOMY...The World Beyond Us.
