July 2003 Journal Archives...

Friday - July 11, 2003

Okay. Here we go. Now what to talk about in my very first blog. I know it's been a long time since I've actually considered blogging. In light of some recent events, I've come to the realization that I should start posting again. If you disgusted at this idea, then you can blame borracho since his lil talk convinced me to start this up. I know this is very plain right now, but I'll worry about that later. I've always figured that it's the content that should matter most right? Sorry about the fact that you can't comment right now, but like I've always told people, if you have something to say, don't just comment, say it to the person. =) I'm sure they would love to hear from you personally rather than through a comment. right? right!

First thing... don't click on the images or home link just yet. Obviously if my blog is the first page, then there really isn't a home or images page to go. hehe. Just fair warning. Wow a lot has happened since I've last blogged. If i sound strange on this thing, then please try to get use to the new way I'm going to approach this blog. I'll probably be sounding a lot more blunt and not so convoluted which I think will be a good thing for a lot of people. I'll still use my lil bag of tricks to hide identities and stuff but other than that, the material here will try to be as honest as possible. Now how does that sound, huh huh? =)

Wednesday - July 16, 2003

Welcome to another one of my posts. Since it will be awhile until I can get my server up and running, I'll just post my blogs on good old Yahoo. I know Geocities has gone down the tube since Yahoo bought it, but still... it's only for awhile until I get my own server up. Thus I have a layout for this website too, but I've decided not to put it up yet either so I can experiment more.

Man, it's been so good lately. Other than having a hard time finding work, everything is going pretty well. My mom keeps on wondering why I keep smiling. Haha. Well to tell you the truth, I dunno why I'm so happy either. Well here's something good that happened today. We only lost 200 dollars off our deposit. I dunno how that happened, but after all the pain that I went through with that leasing office, I think I deserve my money back. Dunno why they always called me when they had problems over the years, but I'm glad that's over with. =) On another front, if you have time and are into anime, I really like the .hack series. It is very philosophical for an anime which is good cause then it actually makes you think and listen to what the people have to say. I've only watched the first ten episodes, but I kinda want to watch the rest now. Yeah, so I sound like a lil kid but who cares... just call me a really old kid, it's fine by me. =)

It's kinda funny how people are ashamed to be called a kid. Yeah, maybe there are some characteristics of kids that you may not want, but still.... I would love to be called a kid instead of an adult. I know it sounds weird, but here's my thinking. When did you have the most fun? It was probably when you were a kid. Most people describe this time as carefree and simple. I guess when we grow up, that all changes, but does it really have to? Do we sometimes create drama when we really could avoid it? Do we just stress ourselves for no particular reason even when the situation does call for it? I would say that we do. For some odd reason, a lot of people crave being stressed even though their life isn't as bad as they think. Take me for example. I stress every now and then on stuff that is so simple. Why? It's cause I perform better when I pressure myself. Do I really need to put myself through all that torment? Probably not. However when I look back at college, it really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I know people are gonna be really mad after reading that last statement and I'm not trying to be all high and mighty here, but think about it for a minute.

Is college even that hard? Or do we like to pretend it's hard to make ourselves feel better when our grades stink. When did getting mean in a class good enough for anyone? Man it's so sad now that I think of it. We have all succumbed to the fact that getting the mean is good. However, what happens when the mean is say 19% like in one of my physics classes my freshman year? Is getting the mean really even acceptable? I rememeber getting the mean for that test and being really happy about it. Now that's just plain sad. That meant that I only knew 19% of the material from the midterm. Shame on me! It wasn't cause it was hard now that I think of it. It's cause I didn't know physics back then plain and simple. That and I thought I didn't really have to study for the midterm. Hence that's where we get ourselves in trouble. We only study for tests, instead of studying to learn the material. How many times has it happened to you that you studied something for a test and the next day you forget everything? It's happened to me several times. I guess what I'm trying to say is learn the material, don't just learn it for the test. If you could study for tests in a couple of days, that means that classes aren't hard at all because there is no way you should be able to cram 4 weeks of material in two nights and still get a good grade. There's something wrong when that happens. Thus in conclusion, this is why I believe college isn't as hard as people make it out to be. If you don't study, you just screw yourself over. I don't mean that you won't graduate, but I mean when you look for a job, your going to need to know something. So learn it now, but have fun with it. Trust me, it is possible to have fun learning even in engineering. =)

Topic 1: Kuya's Housewarming party

Man, lots of people came to my kuya's party this past saturday. Since this blog is getting long you can read the events from my kuya's blog . All I have to say is that I've never seen a more ghetto bonfire than what we had going at 2 AM. Haha. Enough said. =)

Topic 2: My streak of no drinking at parties

Ok, this may sound weird to most of you, but I haven't drank at a party since my buddy Jen Tuazon's 21 bday party which would be more than a month ago. If you guys know me, that may sound very strange, but it's true! I even didn't drink at our apt going away party. It was amazing. I chilled with all the non drinkers so I wouldn't get harrassed that night, but what happens, I still get harrassed by "Lolo". Haha. He wasn't the only one trying to get me to drink too. Now I know what Jason DeGuzman must go through. Yeah. It was kinda funny hearing people ask me why I keep hiding in the back, but if you were me, and people kept trying to force you to drink, where would you hide? =) Since yuffie was my shield from alcohol since he wasn't planning on drinking either, I chilled with him most of the night. It was great. I'm starting to think that you really don't have to drink to have fun even when you don't know anyone. Shoot, I even got to meet an incoming freshman to UCI at the party. That was really cool. She was really nice so I told her to stay at the party as long as she wanted. Plus we had to bolster the ranks of the non alcoholics since some people I knew were aggrandizing their efforts to get me to drink. =P Shame on all of you. Haha. Oh yeah, to a certain someone, you were right cause if you did go, you really would be staying with all of us whining about certain things. Hehe... I'll leave it at that since you know if this pertains to you. =)

Topic 3: Tin comes back July 26... Jason Hills comes back Aug. 15

All I can say is wow! I'm glad that both of them learned a lot while being in another country. Tin going to Cambridge, England and Jason going to Japan. Maybe one day I'll be able to travel too. I'll keep them as dreams now but I know they'll be reality one day. No worries about that. =) Can't wait for Jason to get back too, since we were thinking of going to Vegas. Haha. Any takers? Yay! Tin coming back in less than 2 weeks is okay I guess... hahahahaha. Good job to the other coolest person in the world after our lil surprise gift. Hi five! Yay! Oh yeah, you haven't answered that lil question that you said you would. Hehe, maybe one day right? =)

Topic 4: Bonfire Thurs, Party Friday, Tofu-Fest Sunday?

Actually I don't have much to say about them now since they haven't happened yet. We'll see about the tofu fest. Haha. If anyone is bored and wants to go, give me a call. We take strangers to these things. =P

Okay, I think that's it for now. Hopefully you've enjoyed reading this. If not, then too bad! J/K.... or maybe not. =) Take care and God bless. Remember, happiness is a choice you make everyday, so make the right choice. Hope you have chocolate covered gummi bear dreams! =)

Friday - July 18, 2003

Hey everyone. After having a long talk with a bunch of people and using some time I had to think things through, I have come to the conclusion that I am such a horrible friend. How some of you really put up with me is beyond me, but I really would like to thank all of you. It really means a lot to me even though I haven't been myself for the past few months.

Topic 1: Just let go...

I've talked to Yuffie just now and I have made a commitment to just let go of everything bad that happened in college. Kinda like I want to reset my life a bit and get it back to where it was before. That means forgetting about the backstabbing, the stuff people put me through, etc, etc. I used to be a firm believer that a person always deserved another chance. When I stop believing in that is when I got myself in trouble. Looking back for awhile, I've put such big walls in front of me that it's so hard for people to just get to know who I am. Sometimes I wish that people could have seen me before I moved to California. I was such a hyper and loud mouth kid. =) Nowadays, that "kid" just isn't there anymore. In it's place is someone who is a lot more cautious of people and who he associates himself with. The more backstabbing, the higher the walls go. They are so high now that I would be surprised if anyone really knew the real me. It was sad when I thought about it. Thus I'm going to make a conscious effort to get back to that kid again. I'm going to try to break my own walls of self doubt cause no one should really live like that. It's not how God intended it. I heard a quote and I think I instantly fell in love with it.

"Meeting people is God's work, but paring is the work of humans." - Moto

God keeps on working for me to meet people. I really should take advantage of that and just go with it. He'll guide me. I know he will. I've just been a lil lost and confused along my journey of life. I think God used today to smash me with a mallet and tell me that I'm not living my life correctly. Thus hopefully all of you will see a change in me lil by lil until finally you get to see how I was when I was a kid. =)

Oh yeah, and for all the people I've hurt while being confused and lost I am truly sorry. If any of you decided to stop being friends with me I would totally understand, but I honestly will make it up to all of you somehow. I don't really know how I'm going to accomplish that, but I will. At least you've seen me at my best and at my worst so there's nothing that's really a secret with me. If you have a question about me, just ask. I'll try to answer it as best as possible. So once again, please take my sincere apologies for being a dumbass, a jerk, a punk, a dumbass, or whatever choice words you would like to use instead. =)

Topic 2: Bonfire was fun...

Dante and I got there really late, but the time I spent there was fun. I haven't been to bolsa chica in awhile. I used to run there when I was in high school. Amazing how a couple of years can change certain things. Hehe. Got to see Johndee, Vince, Keith, Carlo, Jennie and some of Keith's friends. To bad I missed Darrell. It's cool though, cause I'm sure I'll see him before summer ends. =) Afterwards, a bunch of us decided to go play pool and I just reinforced that I suck at pool. =) It's okay though cause I knew that already. haha. I'm glad that I got to talk to Carlo again and found out he's still doing his thing in the nursing program. Good for him. John is still being John and calling me Habib. Haha.... you weirdo! =P Man and I talk to Keith so much nowadays. I'm so happy about that. It's cool talking with him about stuff. I like his saying he was telling me tonight.

"Girls... can't live with them. THE END."

Haha. That guy. So funny. =) Hopefully I'll get to chill with all of them again.

Topic 3: 3rd St. Promenade = Tuesday, July 22nd

Well if any of you wanted to go, please feel free to tell me so we know that you are coming. Or you can surprise us over there if you want. Haha. So far it's me, jon, vince, yuffie, wendy, jlo, jenn, borracho, and jason. I think Karl might go too and I still need to convice Earl to go too. =) However, if you never got the invite, it was probably cause i never had your email. Don't think that we don't want you to go, just tell me please. I have been known to be a forgetful lil boy at times. =) So this is your invite if you didn't get it before. Okee dokee smokey?! =)

Satruday - July 19, 2003

Okay, I'm just going to start off with the topics cause I have this really interesting one off the top of my head. =)

Topic 1: Roommates with the same car...

Well back when I had just finished my finals, I had lunch with Jen T. and Loren at BJ's. One of the conversations we had during the course of the day was about Jen's new car that she got. Turns out that her roommate and Jen now own the exact same car except for the color if I remember correctly. I thought it was amusing at first because they both got a 2004 Corolla S and when they needed to go somewhere they might just go to the other's car. However, going forward in time a bit, and I'm at Yuffie's house in Diamondbar just chilling while we both run errands and I ride in his car that I never knew he had till that day. At first I thought it was his parents car, but he informed me it was his. So I look at the Camry a little bit closer and I notice something. It's a freaking 2003 Camry. Haha. Then I ask him when he got his car and it was the same month that I got mine!!! His Camry is just a different shade of blue but I remember seeing the color he got when I was getting my Camry. Man, it's already weird enough that he has the same car and bought it the exact same month as me, but if he got the exact same color too I would have been cracking up with laughter. =P Thus I guess Jen and her roommate aren't the only ones who think alike. Hehe. Oh yeah, and another thing was I looked at his other car and it's a Camry and it's the same color as my brother's Camry. I think someone is trying to copy here. =P It's cool though and quite amusing when you think about it. =)

Topic 2: Party hopping...

Man, I haven't party hopped since I went to Jen T.'s 21st bday and saw Janet and Ruth over there. That was quite a sight. =) That's all I'll say about that. Haha. This time around I went with Keith and John first to a friend's party, then hopping over to a party that Dante was at in Costa Mesa. First of all, Keith and I had to wait on Johndee so we went to Darrell's house just to chill. Wow, having that little talk was great. All three of us came to the conclusion that we can't remember much that happens to us lately, but for some reason all of can recall stuff that happened between everyone back in elementary school. They were telling me a story about the person Darrell calls "Dook". That's all I'll say about that because most people won't get it anyways. It's amazing who I see nowadays. After not seeing anyone for several years, I guess it's just my time to get in touch with everyone again which is dope. Met Darrell's cousin too who went to Walnut and knew who my roommate was. Go figure. Haha.

Once we left from Darell's we headed over to Irvine. Saw people that I chilled with from before and talked with all of them for a bit. People were beyond messed up at that party and I didn't want to drink so as usual I tried to find people who weren't drinking and chilled with them. =) All I can say is, Loren has good taste. Haha. =P After awhile chilling at the first party, we drove and met with Dante at the other party that night that I knew of. Met some funny people over there too. I think Dante's friend just loves circles or something. Haha. After talking outside for awhile and then playing some card games and hearing stuff you just shouldn't be hearing (darn you keith... haha), john, keith, and I rolled to Lee's sandwiches for some Vietnamese sandwiches at around 2:30 AM. Man, can you say that place is packed at that late of an hour. With the amount of people there, they could have started their own lil party outside. =P It was a cool site to see even though John felt out of place since most of the people waiting to get food were Asian. Haha, that's what happens when you go to UCSB fool. =P Finally got back a lil past 3 and just crashed cause I was beyond tired after that. =)

Topic 3: Misunderstandings...

I actually just took this straight off of for_the_truth's blog cause I thought it just makes so much sense.

Spit it out!

You know, I’ve had this away message up for a few days now and not much has come of it. I know what you’re thinking. “Well it’s just ones and zeros. What’s there to say?” But I have news for you. Most people know this, or any seemingly repetitive series of digits, one band zero, as the basis of all computer speak: Binary. Yes, that’s right. Everything you see or experience on your computer is a simple collection of ones and zeros, on switch, off switch, yes, no, no maybe.

And despite most people knowing this, no one’s taken the time to decode it. And I know how many people check my profile. It’s logged. Anyway, this little experiment of mine has led me up to a small inner-discussion on the different types of misunderstanding:

What is it to be misunderstood? A list:1) To be misunderstood is to convey something blatantly and obvious, but for the message not to be comprehended properly by its intended recipient. 2) To be misunderstood is to do something slightly cryptic, (as was my away message) and expecting a recipient to comprehend the message, the recipient in fact being anywhere from a bit off to completely clueless. 3) Lastly, to be misunderstood to convey a message either irrationally cryptic, or not expressing something at all and expecting the recipient of the message to understand it when in fact no one can. The third example is often the case is suicide cases when all the dearly departed all say in unison, “We didn’t see this coming! He was so happy!”

Nonetheless, the type of misunderstanding that causes this world of ours so much conflict is the second one stated which I will herein refer to as the “cryptic message.” Now, we are all familiar with being misunderstood in this field. Girls in relationships think that everything they do is an example of the first form of misunderstanding when in fact they are in the 2 or 3 range. Most guys in relationships will on a greater pattern stay within their 2 to 3 range because we (as a whole) can’t seem to commit to our feelings so publicly. Both of these common patterns of fault are easily resolved. The guy will typically figure out what he’s been doing wrong (or just give up) and the girl will usually feel pitty for the guy and just say, “You’re right.”

It’s simple, right? No, not really. Because all the previous examples have all had one thing in common: someone trying to decrypt a problem. What do you do when no one wants to decrypt your puzzle, simple or difficult, and you sit there alone without your message ever being heard. I would equate this to sending messages in the form of TV static to all the unused stations on your television. Even if it were as simple as upside down lettering, no one’s watching. And this, my friends, is where the real conflict begins.

Don’t lie, ok? How often do you overlook someone JUST because you’d rather continue being bored? Yeah, I thought so. In this immediate gratification generation/nation we expect everything to be wrapped up in a neat little package with a Tiffany’s ribbon on top. CNN news briefs, 1-Hour World News, News in a Minute, Just Say No, Set-It-And-Forget-It, 8-Minute Abs. And it’s not any different with people. I’m sure you’ve used the sayings, “Just get to the point,” “Ya ya ya… come on,” and “Sum it up.” You’ve even done this when people are pouring their hearts out to you (whether you know it or not).

Now, I assume that most people reading this have had various social interactions within their life times. Have you, yourself, ever used minorly cryptic signals to convey a message? Have you looked at someone in a certain way- maybe a hint to a kiss? Or have you sworn that you were being sarcastic with someone and the other person take your conveyance as literal truth. Afterwards you think to yourself, “That person is truly clueless” or something of the sort. How would/do you feel if/when doesn’t even care to hear your message?

This isn’t really problem I have with myself, except in very special circumstances, but I see this everyday. One person hints one way, but no one care to decode. Another gives a certains look and people gaze away. What is wrong here? Where is the natural curiosity that humans are supposed to be known for? Where’s the “What do you mean,” or “I’ll figure this out immediately”?

Think about it next time. How often when communicating are you willing to read between the lines… every line?! Try to figure out what everyone wants, needs, IS when you talk to them. Trust me, they’re sending it ALL out everytime they communicate with out, you just have to decode the message…

As for my message, it’s quite ironic in my opinion. Decode, why don’t ya?

Okay, I think that's it for now. Hopefully you've enjoyed reading this. If not, then too bad! J/K.... or maybe not. =) Take care and God bless. Remember, happiness is a choice you make everyday, so make the right choice. Hope you have chocolate covered gummi bear dreams! =)

Tuesday - July 22, 2003

Welcome to another installment of everything and anything involving me. So without further ado, let's begin shall we? =)

Topic 1: Doing things that were once so familiar to you...

Ok, I dunno how many people can actually relate to this but I'm going to say it anyways. Hehe. Well have you ever thought for awhile and wished that you could do some of the stuff you used to be able to do just one more time? Well that's what has been happening to me lately. I've actually been running 2 sometimes 3 miles in westside Long Beach. I know some of you are scared of where I live... (Yuffie.. haha), but this is where I grew up in. This environment is what I call home and I used to run all the time around everywhere - from my house to Hudson, to Admiral Kidd Park, to those stores off Sante Fe and Hill, to Saint Lucy, to Hapag Kinan, past the old video store back to my house again. It really is a fun run. No really it is! =P I'm glad that I've gotten myself to do it again. I don't know why I stopped doing it in the first place, but you get to see so many things while running around everywhere. You'll never get bored of the scenery or action. =) Plus you can always say hi to random people and see their expressions. Haha... you would be surprise how many people look at you funny when you say hi to them and don't know them. =P All in all, I think I'm going to continue doing this.

Another thing that I got to do that I haven't done in a long time is go to San Diego. That place used to be my home away from home. Ask JLo... she knows. We would always have all the adventures late at night driving the I-5 to the 805 going to National City and 32nd St. Man those days seem so long ago, but going back today made me really happy for some odd reason. The city seemed so new and unique even though it hasn't been that long since I've last been there. I dunno what it was but I was just eager to be there yesterday for some reason. I even went to the bowling alley in the base. Man, haven't been there in ages! It's been so long that it looked totally different from what I last remembered it. So we watch people bowl for awhile and then play some pool. I dunno how it happened, but I got good all of the sudden. LOL. =P Haha, oh well. Then we went to the clinic since kuya had an appointment. While I waited I read my GRE book and looked at the cute receptionist. Haha. Man, that really could keep you occupied when you are just sitting there waiting. =P Afterwards, we went to eat at a hawaiian resturant next to Pacific Beach, or as all San Diego people know it as PB. We actually had a choice between going to get hawaiian food or hooters. It's amazing we still just got hawaiian food since I hear the girls at the PB Hooters are hot. =) Haha, I sound all girl crazy huh? Oh well. So after eating, we finish off doing some other stuff and then head back to Murrieta to do some more errands. After that, we went back home to Long Beach. All in all, I'm glad I went because I haven't done that with kuya in such a long time. We've always been doing things seperately lately mostly cause I'm always busy. But yes, today was very nice and brought back a lot of good memories. =)

Topic 2: The long and drawn out drama...

Before I start, I thought this lil quote would be fitting.

" You get lines by connecting points together. When the lines close, the outlines for the situation start to appear. The more points there are to connet, the more the outline becomes apparent. Right now, we are still looking for those points to connect. " - Bear

Sometimes you just don't know what the problem is and you have to try to continue looking for those "points" without aggravating the situation anymore. My problem these past two months was that while looking for the problems that a friend and I were having, I think I was making the situation worse. However, now that I think of it, it might have been necessary to have all those fights just so I could figure out what was wrong and try my best to fix it. Just like you need points to connect a line, it's the same with any problem you have with anyone. Without certain events being shown to you, you can never correct what is happening between people. I'm just glad that my friend was patience enough to wait it out. Thanks. =)

I really think I'm finally getting back to the person I used to be. People can see it in my attitude which is a good thing. I know there will still be rough spots to work out, but a good attitude will always bring you whatever you need. That and faith. I know it may sound funny but I think I've grown closer in my relationship with God lately. I remember talking to Joyce about this awhile back and I told her about the fact that I seemed so distant from people. Hopefully those days will happen less and less. We shall see though.

Anoher thing.. I am so glad that we didn't see each other every single day. If we did, we could have sold our drama to a TV station and probably had really dope ratings. Haha. So here's to the future which keeps looking brighter everyday that passes. =)

Tuesday - July 29, 2003

I just found out friends from way back read this thing. Haha. Guess I should start putting thing that only they understand then just so everyone gets something out of this huh? With that said, I should recount my week right? RIGHT!

Topic 1: GRE's

Man what was I thinking when I thought to myself that I could make studying for this thing fun and interesting. My gosh, I must have been delirious or something. Yes, hopefully all this psuedo independent studying for the GRE's will get me a decent score. That's right, I'm not looking for a Yuffie score here, just something to get me into grad school. =) I swear I've never used 98.9% of these words ever before. Man, if they had ghetto Long Beach words and ebonics on the GRE's I would so ace the verbal part of the exam. Shoot, my lingo sure isn't going to cut it for the vocab section. They use words that have more than 5 letters.... YES, more than 5 letters. Can you even believe that such words exist? Hehe. I'm sure I'll do fine in the Math section which is the only REAL section on that test according to the schools I'm looking at so guess I should study some more before I actually take it. Anyone want to use big words anytime they see me, please do so maybe I can learn a new word everytime we talk. =P

Topic 2: 3rd St

Last Tuesday was really fun. I had a blast going with more people than we expected to see at this thing. What happened to taking only 2 cars?! Let this be a lesson to you to NOT plan things cause more times than not they don't work out the way you think. The best thing to do is plan a lil and then adapt as the need arises. =) That's what we did Tuesday. We were suppose to leave at 5:30 PM, but you know us Pilipinos... we can't leave on time cause that would be a mortal sin or something. Haha. So I go visit Eunice at labs since that's the only place I see her nowadays and we chit chat for awhile since I'm waiting on everyone. Eunice gets hungry so I go and buy 99 cent chicken mcnuggets at mcD's for her. While I'm there, I go and visit Jeniqua of 215 since that girl is always hungry too. So after driving around and then dropping off the food to Eunice it's about 7 so I head over to Borracho's since I figured everyone would be there by then. Nope. Haha, what was I thinking? Of course they invited more people so we waited once again. =P So I leave about 7:30 after all the rides are figured out since we ended up with about 14-15 people coming to this thing. When we finally get there, we go eat at Fatburgers and chill. We meet up JLo and her bf and start our lil interesting talk that people joined in on. After hearing our conversation, Keith has more respect for JLo. Freaking Keith. Haha. Let's see if I remember everyone who was there. Yuffie, Keith, JLo, Borracho, Me, Karen, Chris, Billy, Wendy, Edna, Karl, Lourdes and Gerald. I can't remember the rest. Doh! All I got to say is that's a lot of Irvine peeps coming up in one day. After dinner, we chilled for awhile, went to Urban Outfitters, pretended to know which way to go.... (yeah, I'm talking about Keith here. haha), then headed over to the pier. Sad to say the ferris wheel was closed or me and yuffie would have went on it. LOL. So we walk around, talk about stuff, and then look at some nametags that we didn't know could be personalized. So we're looking around for our names just for fun and we were looking for Keith's name since we knew there's no way that they would have Yuffie's name there. While looking the salesperson comes up to us and tells us that they do custom nametags and stuff. I kinda felt bad telling him we were just looking around for fun cause he's only doing his job, but oh well. It was misty and stuff when we got to the end of the pier so we watch some of the fisherman/woman try to catch fish. After that we head out back to my car.

Okay, remind me not to listen to Keith's directions. =P So we're heading back to my car and Keith figures that this one parking garage was where we parked. Of course being the dummy I am, I actually believed him. Haha. So, me, yuffie, and keith look everywhere for my car. It was truly a sad sight to see. =) Once I actually thought about it, I knew we were in the WRONG parking structure and we all left and went to the correct place this time. Major sadness. So once we get into the car, we start to play the hawaiian CD that Keith had bought and started to head off back home. Of course being that we were already in LA, I thought it would be nice to just drive around just for fun. So we take Wilshire back to the Westwood area and I show them around UCLA at night. Haha. I don't know why I'm always coming to the UCLA campus at night these days. So we're driving around and I can't remember how to get to the dorms anymore. So after awhile we just decide to go off sunset just for kicks and headed to beverly hills. More funny conversations ensued and then yuffie finally got to see the dorms. After all that driving, we decide to head back, but not until we get this yummy idea to eat at rosco's. So we get to Long Beach and rosco's is closed. We had to be the saddest people in the world at around 1:31 AM Wednesday morning. Well that can't be that hard being that all the NORMAL people are sleeping at that point. =) Thus we show yuffie around the nicer part of Long Beach since he's already the bullet ridden part also known as where me and Keith live. Haha. After that I decide I should drive yuffie back to Irvine since it as about 2 AM. We finally get back to Long Beach and me and Keith have a talk until like 4 AM. Then off to sleep. Thanks for everyone who came, and for those who didn't.... (ahem, jackie and jason... oh wait, i see why they didn't go. it's must have something to do with the last name deguzman. =P ) We'll plan another thing next time. =)

Topic 3: Willy's lil get together

Here's a reason why you should pay attention to the streets when you first get to a new place. While driving to El Toro to get to Willy's place, we were just looking at the sights and not really paying any attention to what streets we were on. The first time getting to Willy's place was a piece of cake since we just followed the directions to the letter. So Keith, Darrell, and me go talk to Willy and the rest of them for awhile. They have a nice house over there. Since we were hungry, we go eat at Fatburger's for the second time in a week. Man, that can't be good for you but oh well. So we take Grand all the way down which made it really easy to get to the plaza area where Fatburgers is located. So I talk to Darrell for awhile since I haven't seen the guy since he graduated and we just end of talking about back in the days when we used to all play basketball and other sports. Quite entertaining.

After eating the fun really began. So we buy drinks for the people at the get together and we start heading back. After like 15 minutes of not paying attention I start to realize that we are lost being that Keith and Darrell aren't saying anything. Haha. So after like 30 mins of driving we take a street called Crown Valley Road. Let me just put it this way. Don't take that road unless you want to end up at Dana Point! Man... I can't believe we drove from El Toro to Dana Point without even knowing it. LOL. All of us were like, "Ah, hell no!". Haha. It was fun though cause at least we got to see the different cities. We learned to despise Crown Valley Road and this one street called Moutan since we kept passing it for odd reason. Turns out that Aliso Viejo Parkway is really Laguna Hills after a certain point so that's what confused everyone. Once we got that all straightened out, we finally got back to Willy's after like an hour. Needless to say the beer was warm. =P

On a side note, I really have the worse memory when it comes to people I've met before. That night Willy's gf just came up to me suddenly and just knew who I was. Confused as usual, I just look at her like a dumbass trying to figure out how she knows me. Then she explains that she knew my brother and had met me long time ago when I was still in high school. Man.. how come I can't have a good memory like that. Oh well.

Back to the topic here, so we get the latest news about everyone who is getting married, has kids, doing drugs, etc, etc. Haha. You think I'm kidding about the doing drugs part huh? =P That would be a negative. At least I am now caught up with most people's lives. Yay! So we end up talking about all these old school songs. Man, you should have seen us acting like idiots and singing old school hip hop songs. Darrell went off rapping an old school song called "Da B Side". I don't know how many people have heard or even remember that song, but it was classic back here in Long Beach back in the days. Also found out that a buddy of ours works in the Huntington Beach area so I think Willy, Keith, and me should go visit. Ahem.... haha. =P Very fun night indeed and worth the effort to go all the way to El Toro. =)

Topic 4: Saturday's lil events

So after getting back past 3 AM once again, I was hoping Saturday I would be able to rest a lil bit. However, after watching Yu-Gi-Oh and other cartoons.... yes I watch cartoons foo! An hour before Yuffie bday party begins, he calls me up to tell me about it. Supposedly he sent an evite, but he should know better and just call me since I don't like checking email at home. =P So I do my errands first and then head over to his party/BBQ thing. All of the engineers were there as expected but I got to see a buddy of mine that I haven't seen in awhile. So my buddy Marisohl and I talk for quite awhile just catching up with anything and everything. I find out Joanne was suppose to be there too but she's working. Well one out of two can't be that bad. Haha. So while talking to her she asks me about rumors she hears from I'm guessing Joanne and I confirm certain things with her. Haha.. she's so curious. Geez. =P I also got to meet someone that knew me from a party that I went to several weeks ago but if you know me by now you should know that I had no clue who she was again. Doing my "umm... do I know you" impression once again (I do that a lot these days. =P ) Luckily for me, people aren't annoyed and actually explain to me where they have met me before. If not, I would just continue to stare like a dummy trying to figure out where I've met them before. Haha. So we chill at the pool for awhile and then I play some tennis with Deejay which was quite fun even though she's like a freaking professional. Fun stuff though. Afterwards we sang happy bday to Belinda and Yuffie and then after awhile I party hopped once again to Karl and Wendy's lil thing happening the same night.

So while being at the party for awhile I pull another I have no clue who the heck you are stunt at this party. Man, two in one day. That has to be a record or something for me. Sigh. Well while walking around looking for Karl to say happy belated bday to him, I run into Sunshine. Oh course I didn't know it was her at first but when you get that stare from a person for like more than 30 seconds, you know that person is 1) a stalker or 2) someone who has met you before but you don't remember. Luckily for me it was #2. =) As usual she had to tell me where I had met her before, but after she told me it all clicked. Funny she looked totallly different from the time I saw her after PCN and I was buying drinks for all of them since they are underage. Oh wait, should I even be writing that? Haha. Oh well. Yeah, so we talked a lil and stuff which was cool. Then there was this one girl in a hawaiian skirt freaking everyone which was quite amusing too. There was some other stuff I remembered but I'll leave it at that party. It was quite fun but I still don't know how I missed seeing Jason there when he was there the same time I was. Weird. Funny thing is that both of us didn't drink unlike someone that night that said he wouldn't drink but drank anyways... (yes I'm talking about you Yuffie. =P ) So afterwards, I go to Charlie's place since I hear they are moving out of their apt. Gonna miss that apt since I used to always chill there and stuff. Charlie had this cool roommate named Drew too. I think they had a lil too much roommate love if you ask me. You can ask Kanita too cause we agree on that much. =P So we talk for awhile once again. That seems to be a recurring theme since I don't see these people much these days. Plus Drew was moving to Redmond because of his darn Microsoft job and his 80k+ job with huge benefits.... can you see the tiny bit of bitterness in that last statement? =P That guy deserves it though. He's the smartest programmer I've met ever. A lil on the lazy side, but when he puts his mind to it, that guy can code up a storm. I played the game he basically made himself and it's really fun! If only I had half his brain... oh well. So after talking I watch both Drew and Charlie play WC3 expansion for awhile and me and Charlie head back to Long Beach and Torrance respectively at 2 AM. Yet another fun and busy night. =)

Topic 5: Sunday... the day of rest, or is it?

So after all these days of going out and not coming home till really early in the morning, you would think that I would learn my lesson and just relax on Sunday of all days. Nope! So I head down to Irvine to go to 6:30 PM mass at Interfaith. After mass, Joycee was holding practice so I decided to practice with them since I heard about the practice from Charlie the night before. So after practicing till 9:30, I give some stuff to Joyce to bring back with her so I could just go home and sleep early for once. Joyce and the rest of them want to eat though so they convinced me to go eat with them. So we go to Joyce's house first and I meet one of Joyce's roommates Karen who is leaving pretty soon. Find out she's Arlene's best friend from Daygo. So all of us chit chatted awhile cause Joyce wanted to wait for Tin to get back from whereever she went. So we are about to leave to Alerto's when Tin finally calls up Joyce and all of us just meet at Alertos. Heard really dumb but funny jokes from Mel. Man, he's quite the character. GP's jokes were funny too.

Afterwards, we head back to Joyce's apt cause Tin insisted that I go back so she can give her present from Cambridge to me. So we get back and I get this choice between grey and blue so I think for awhile about it. Then Joyce freaking decides for me and picks blue. Haha. So now I am the owner of a blue Cambridge sweater curtesy of Tin. Thank you very much! So me and Tin talk a lil bit about stuff before I finally leave to go to Elwin's place cause they were having a BBQ at midnight. Yes you heard right... midnight! So me and Jason head over there and we watch the last part of Snatch with Elwin, Quan, Charlie, and Kanita. Afterwards, they play Super Smash Bros. and I get called Schmalvie by Kanita again. Where does she get these names from? =P It was quite fun chilling with all of them again. Thus didn't get home till past 2 AM again which is getting to be pretty sad. However I got to see Drew one last time before he went off to Redmond, I got to say hi to Tin again after she got back from Cambridge, I talked to Joyce about stuff, and I got to hear dumb jokes from Mel. What else could make a day more fun? Hehe.

Topic 6: The aftermath... or what we call Monday

So let's just say all that staying out late got me sick. Oh well. However, I still went out to get the new DVD episode of dot hack sign at Lakewood Mall that night. Found out they have a Disney store there now. Amazing. Also when I went to Suncoast to buy the DVD I had a nice conversation with the salesperson there. I was wearing the Cambridge sweater I had gotten the day before from Tin so the girl asked me where Cambridge was. Then we went on this conversation about the place. I had to explain to her that I wasn't the one who actually went and it was a friend that went instead. It was still fun to talk to the person who seemed quite nice. On a bad note, thunderstorm blew out our TV. It's quite funny now that I think of it cause a kid got hit by lightning too and guess where it happened. Yup, in Long Beach. Go figure. Lucky the TV has warrenty so we're not worried. =)

Oh yeah before I go I just had to post something that Jen T. wrote about her experience at Q's awhile back.

"ok, so here was the nasty nasty gross moment of the night: this big girl and this guy were totally making out on the dance floor. but not just making out...but gyrating in this ugly non-rhythmic way and totally just sucking face. and then the girl had her eyes open and looked like she was a vacuum cleaner attacking the guy's face. it was the nastiest/scariest thing i've seen in a long time. ask me if you want a reenactment. "

Don't ask for the reenactment. It's scary!! Haha. Of course it's told in a way that only Jen can tell it. Don't know why, but I just had to share that since I thought it was too funny.... scary, but funny!
