This is Missy-Lou and Ziggy, who arrived together at Saint Matildas late last Summer. Their previous owners no longer had the time needed to properly care for them both, so on a hot afternoon , we arrived to collect them both. Ziggy was a pushover right from the start, letting us carry him to the trailer, Missy-Lou on the other hand was quite a different story. She decided that on this particular day , she was staying right where she was, so we decided to get Ziggy back to Saint Matildas so he could cool off. We returned the next day to collect MIssy-Lou with extra hands standing by to help load her. However, she walked right into her crate within a few minutes. We suspect she was missing Ziggy, as they are truly a sweet ,unseperable couple.
Ziggy was in good condition, however MIssy-Lou was overweight and having trouble walking around, she was also having trouble seeing due to her obesity. However after a hoof trim and appropriate diet, Missy is doing so much better now, although she can be a grumpy gal at times, her snort is worse than her bite! |
