CRIPPLE CREEK |
||||||||
Cripple Creek is very quite big. There is really three parts that are in Cripple Creek. The first one is NCCI, the second is the main center part of town, and then you have Cripple Creeks Scott yard. Cripple Creek is the last town on the Colorado & New Mexico Lines. In the town of Cripple Creek, you will find the main station for the the CONM's Special, and the CONM's Daylight. These two passenger trains run once a week. One week it's the Special; which runs from Cripple Creek North to Denver, CO, or goes South to Albuquerque, NM. The CONM Daylight runs between Cripple Creek, NM and Eldorado Springs, CO. The Special express consists of a P42 genesis with Amtrak bought Superliners that are painted in the CONM'S paint scheme. The Daylight consists of a diner, coach, vista dome, and an observation car. These are all Amtrak leased cars, which the CONM had bought. The Daylight can have two kinds of observation cars. One of them is the DRGW ski train's Colorado car, and the other one is just an Amtrak car. Cripple Creek has many small shops and diners to eat at and enjoy! Also, it has very nice hotels to sleep at for any passenger, railfan that comes and visits the Colorado & New Mexico Lines!! |
