Transgressive Architecture group is a collaboration of architects, artists, a film maker, and photographers. Formed in 2001, the group attempts to draw attention to the social cleansing of urban spaces that has taken place in London and other "world" cities. Based on the research "The Dead Zone & The Architecture of Transgression"
the group believes in the contribution of marginalized communities and activities to the livelihood of public spaces. Documenting this cleansing process, creating public art installations, and architectural proposals the Transgressive Architecture envisages more open, inclusive and democratic urban public spaces.
