The River Kwai has acquired a tragic fame during the second World War, due to the building of the so-called “Passage of Death” and the many casualties among the Allied prisoners of war.

After we have reached the provincial capital Kanchanaburi, we’ll first learn about this episode through a visit to the “JEATH War Museum”.

During a drive alongside the river to the famous River Kwai Bridge, we’ll see numerous floating houses. Our lunch will consist of an abundant selection of European and Thai foods, the historical train trip will not pass through the notorious passage of death, witch we’ve seen before, but through jungle and various plantations.

Before we return to our place of departure, we’ll still make a short stop at one of the two war cemeteries.
