Paris

April 2004

8 April     2:45pm

Man am I tired! The flight left late and so we arrived in Paris late. The flight wasn't anything spectacular. I tried watching the movies by switching between School of Rock and Mona Lisa's Smile. One thing that caught my eye with the tv shows they were playing was, one of them was the show that the Discovery Channel filmed when I was doing my field school in Ireland. I did a small cheer, but did not watch it. (I've already seen it.) I did manage to get 2 hours of sleep on the plane...can't say the same for my father. There was a man with a sign of our name waiting for us at the terminal. That's never happened before, so I was thrilled. The ride into Paris was long b/c of the traffic, and we soon found out that the man wasn't all too nice. It didn't help that my dad left our itinery at home (with our hotel address) and the man didn't know where our hotel was. Stupid man. Thank goodness for my memorizational skills. I previously had looked up the addie and memorized its location on the map. I saved the day! ;) We were incredibly fortunate enough to be able to check in to our hotel room when we arrived. A father and daughter came in after us (while we were waiting for the cleaning people to fix up the room), and the father was being such an asshole, demanding his room now, but the person who has his room from the night before hadn't checked out yet. He asked the concierge if he could ask the person in the room to check out early. (Such gall!) He ended up having to leave the stuff at the hotel and come back later. Us, we got to go to our room and crash. The room is very nice. I love the bed with its plush cover and plush pillows. Now that my father has fallen back asleep, I must wake him up and then we're off to see Le Jardin du Luxemburg, Le Pantheon et hopefully La Musee National du Moyen Age. Until next time! Cheers!

I thank my father for coming on the trip with me. It was a wonderful experience.
