Bhutan 2003
Paro is home to the national museum and watchtower to one of the oldest and most celebrated dzongs in all Bhutan. The town of Paro is small with most of inhabitants living in the beautiful valley that surrounds the town. Try to get into the top birds eye view point from where you will be able to see the whole valley- its just breathtaking .Paro airport adds more charm to its enchanting beauty.
The first stop after leaving Thimphu on the journey east is Dochu La (la means pass) at 3050m-10.007ft.. Only a one hour drive from Thimphu, it offers visitors their first glimpse of the Central-Eastern Himalayan range. But unfortunately I failed to get a glimpse as the whole area was covered with dense fog. So, try at least to get there.
The road to Punakha branches off left and curls its way down the valley to the relative lowlands of the Punakha Valley. The Punakha Dzong is considered the most beautiful in the country. Before Thimphu was made capital of Bhutan, Punakha held the title as the "Winter Capital" because of its more temperate climate.
In this trip I went to only a part of Bhutan probably the central & eastern part. A lot is left to explore. One thing I can assure you that if you have enough time in hand & money [ 'cause the journey is extensive ] then you can really enjoy the ecstatic , untouched beauty. And Please open your eyes all the time & think differently. That's it.
