FLEETWEEK IN SAN FRANCISCO

In the fall of 1998, I ventured to Fisherman't Wharf to see the Blue Angels perform for Fleetweek. These pictures were taken the day before the fleet came in and the Angels were just practicing...

Fleetweek was not without controversy--the people in the skyscrapers were a little perturbed by the airplanes flying so close and making the buildings rattle. The wildest part was when the planes flew low over the city and set off all the car alarms. Talk about an entrance!

I attempted to contact the Fleetweek webpage people for permission to use a couple of graphics, but was unable. I'm using them anyway, with thanks...

Please be patient...there are a lot of pictures!
