Personality: 
Lorn is a fairly serious man, bent on protecting his shipmates from harm. He tends to find it hard to relax, and prefers to be working than having nothing to do. He often to take on more duties than his position would normally dictates.

Lorn has quick reactions and deadly precision when acting on instinct. When he has to think or concentrate on what he is doing, his hands will shake, preventing him from returning to surgery. History:
Lorn Mitchell was orphaned at birth. His mother, Lisette Lovejoy, died during childbirth, and his father unknown. He was adopted soon after by the Mitchells, who lived in Central London.

Lorn's childhood was relatively uneventful, and he found great enjoyment in reading about historic battles. When he was 16, his foster parents contracted a virus while off-planet, and died soon after. The death of the two changed Lorn, and he began pursuing a career in medicine.

Kyle Mitchell was an engineer for Starfleet, and even as a boy Lorn always imagined being on a starship, exploring the stars. He went straight to the Academy at 16, and passed through with flying colours. He continued on in Starfleet Medical, training in pathology and forensics.

Two years later, he finished his doctorate and was posted to the USS Nostromo as part of the medical team. After two years of dedicated service, he was promoted and made head of the trauma unit. His skills and precision during surgery made him a natural for the post. A year later, his skill and dedication paid off again with another promotion to Lieutenant Commander, and soon after being assigned as the CMO aboard the USS Nostromo.

A few months later, the Nostromo was assigned to escort two medical frigates in response to a distress call. It turned out that the beacon was a decoy, and the convoy was ambushed in the Necron Expanse by a fleet of Breen ships. The battle was intense, and frighteningly swift. Three Breen vessels engaged the Nostromo, while the others quickly brought down the shields of the frigates. After beaming over the medical supplies, the two frigates were destroyed with all hands on board, despite surrendering. Lorn looked on in horror before being torn away to co-ordinate casualties.

Minutes later, Captain Solek ordered the ship to be abandoned. The Captain appeared in Sickbay with a large security contingent, and began evacuating those who could be moved quickly; there was no time to evacuate the entire crew. Lorn figured out what Solek was doing and began to protest, but was dragged away by security.

Moments after the escape pod was launched, the Nostromo exploded, sending the pod careening through space. Lorn shared the pod with three others, but the vessel suffered a fair amount of damage, and his right leg was pinned by a heavy bulkhead. Twelve hours later a rescue ship arrived, though they managed only to recover 32 of the 850 crewmembers of the three ships.

Lorn's hip was smashed to a pulp, and was replaced with a duralloy replacement. He spent three months recovering from his wound, and had found that his nerves were no longer steady. He began to drink, which helped for a while, but eventually he was found out, and disciplined by a demotion and six months medical leave for counselling and to 'dry out'.

He returned to Starfleet with a vengeance, and entered Starfleet Command School, going back to his old love of battles and tactics. He graduated with honours, and began an assignment on Starbase 109 as Chief Tactical Officer.

After months of applying for a ship position, Lorn was eventually posted on the USS MacKenzie, where he served with distinction and eventually was again promoted to Lieutenant Commander.

With his years of service, and spotless record since his return, the admiralty has decided to assign him as Executive Officer aboard the newly commissioned USS Calypso B.
