Mt. Washington Observatory

In April, over Spring Break, we returned to New Hampshire. Our second visit to the Mount Washington Weather Observatory was quite different from the first trip. This time we had sunshine, beautiful views, more snow, and colder temperatures. The wind was lower also, topping out at 58mph during our stay. While we would have liked more wind, the milder winds let us spend more time outside. We did more hiking around and had a chance to try out crampons and learn to use an ice axe. The trip also took us to Cornell University, where we picked up one of our participants, and Schoharie Cave in New York on the return trip.
