Books

For the complete account of every Lotus car, there is no better book than William Taylor's The Lotus Book. For detail on the Elan and +2 Robinshaw and Ross Authentic Lotus Elan and Plus 2 is very detailed and an excellent buy.

Web pages.

I have tried to concentrate on +2 specific sites, as there are plenty of other links pages out there dealing with Lotus in general.

The Lotus Bulletin Board, which has a separate area for discussion of the Plus 2. Started in February 2001, so at the time of writing nothing to read. There are plenty of Plus 2 owners out there, so in time I would expect the messages to pick up.

Elan + 2 Register.  A registry site operated by the Swedish Lotus owners organization (LCCS), so naturally a lot of Swedish owned cars, together with a fair spread of cars from elsewhere. Links to other +2 owners' email and web pages.

Another Swedish site from the creator of the LCCS site, Per Olof Hakansson, which charts the rebuild of a Plus 2S130/5   after an accident with an excellent set of pictures and a very nice looking car at the end of it.

Steve Porritt's Lotus Pages, showing the continuing rebuild of a 1968 +2.

Another rebuild site, this time Phillip's  1970 +2S, with some good step by step pictures.

A strange tale from Canada of the just how much damage an angry wife can do to a Plus 2 and how long it takes to repair. Can this story be true?

Three pictures of a 1972 +2/130 Federal, together with Dyno output tables and graphs for the car's engine. The car has a Webasto sunroof fitted and the owner seems to looking for a replacement.

A German site, with a photograph of a silver plus 2.

Another rebuild site, this time with a car that really has got about as bad as they can. It's nice to see a car come back from the dead at the hands of its owner.

Golden Gate Lotus Club's site, with a good selection of technical tips and articles

LotusElan.net a very comprehensive guide to both the original and +2 Elans can be found on this American site, which also includes a registry and plenty of useful information.

Lotus Homage page,   two pictures of a blue and silver +2/130, with some basic background .

Revised: February 17, 2001 .
