Lotus Elan +2 Pages Site Map

What's New?

Lotus Elan+2 pages

This site is divided into four main areas:

  • The History of the +2,  which charts its development from prototype to its final production model. There is also background on Lotus Cars and the cars which preceded the +2.
  • Technical Description, which describes the car's construction, design features and performance. Separate pages describe the Twincam engine, the backbone chassis and the car's systems in general.
  • The Photo Gallery, showing various cars in detail.
  • Owning a +2, which gives an insight into the joys and troubles that owning a Lotus can bring. A section on famous +2 owners can be found, and if you have experiences to share, drop me a line and they can be added to the owners' tales page.

If you wish to research further into the history of the +2 there is a links page and recommended reading, together with an index page to guide around the site. Finally, please use the feedback page to let me know your view, whether you own a +2 or not.

What's New

February 2001

I have added some information on the various body colours used by Lotus. Also a link to the Lotuscars.dk bulletin board.

July 2000

Some further what came from where thoughts, emailed in by Howard. Also a picture sent in by Phil of his very smart guards red +2.

April 2000

A new page of photographs from Donington 2000, together with a new set of pages which show the evolution of the car model by model, starting with chassis number 14, one of the original press cars. Over time I will add to each page, but to start with I've put in some pictures. In the technical section I've added a page on the basics of the lighting system. There are further pictures in the technical section showing the chassis at various stages in the rebuild, together with some further details of Minilite wheels for the +2. There's  a new page on modified cars.
